2018 Louisville Cardinals Baseball Team
The 2018 Louisville Cardinals baseball team represented the University of Louisville during the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Cardinals played their home games at Jim Patterson Stadium as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They were led by head coach Dan McDonnell, in his twelfth year at Louisville. Dan McDonnell
Dan McDonnell is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of the Louisville Cardinals since the start of the 2007 season. As of the end of the 2017 season, Louisville has a 646-266 (.708 winning percentage) in 15 seasons record under McDonnell and has appeared in five College World Series (2007, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019), 7 super regionals, and 10 NCAA tournaments. Under McDonnell, the Cardinals have won two Big East tournaments and four Big East regular season titles. McDonnell was one game away in 2015 from leading his Louisville Cardinals to three straight College World Series appearances. Jim Patterson Stadium
Jim Patterson Stadium is a baseball stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. It is the home field of the University of Louisville Cardinals college baseball team. Since opening in 2005, Jim Patterson Stadium has hosted nine NCAA regionals and six NCAA Super Regionals. In 2007, it hosted the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time in program history, where the Cardinals defeated Oklahoma State two games to one to advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in February 2018.
