2018 Intercontinental GT Challenge
The 2018 Intercontinental GT Challenge was the third season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The season featured four rounds, starting with the Bathurst 12 Hour, Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour on 4 February and concluding with the California 8 Hours on 28 October. Markus Winkelhock was the defending Drivers' champion and Audi was the defending Manufacturers' champion. The series reverted to rules of the 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge, inaugural season, where each manufacturer was permitted to nominate up to four cars in each event. In 2017 Intercontinental GT Challenge, 2017 all cars and drivers scored points towards the championship. Intercontinental GT Challenge
The Intercontinental GT Challenge is a sports car racing series developed by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation, SRO Group in 2016. It consists of international Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance races for grand tourer racing cars complying with the FIA's Group GT3, GT3 regulations. Format The series is aimed at manufacturers. Instead of fielding their own cars, manufacturers can appoint and support local teams in selected events to gain points. Four manufacturers took part in the inaugural series in 2016 Intercontinental GT Challenge, 2016: Audi, Bentley, McLaren Automotive, McLaren and Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (), informally referred to as Spa, is a Race track, motor-racing circuit located in Francorchamps, Stavelot, Wallonia, Belgium, about southeast of Spa, Belgium, Spa. W Racing Team (known as Team WRT) is a Belgian auto racing team founded in 2009 by engineer and former head of Volkswagen Motorsport René Verbist, racing driver Vincent Vosse, and entrepreneur Yves Weerts. Between 2010 and 2022 the team campaigned Audi R8 LMSs in several international sports car series. In 2010 the team won the Belcar Drivers' and Teams' Championships, while in 2011 they won the Spa 24 Hours. The 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup was the eighth season of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. The season began on 22 April at Monza and ended on 30 September in Barcelona. The season featured five rounds, with each race lasting for a duration of three hours besides the 24 Hours of Spa and the 1000 km Paul Ricard events. The 2018 WeatherTech Raceway California 8 Hours was the second edition of the WeatherTech Raceway California 8 Hours race held on WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on 28 October 2018. The race was contested with GT3-spec cars, GT Cup-spec cars, GT4-spec cars, MARC cars and TCR-touring cars. The race was organized by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO). Laguna Seca Raceway (branded as WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and previously Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for sponsorship reasons) is a paved road racing track in central California used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, built in 1957 near both Salinas and Monterey, California, United States.
