2018 Brantford Galaxy Season
The 2018 season was Brantford Galaxy's seventh season in the Canadian Soccer League. Their season began on May 25, 2018 in an away match against CSC Mississauga. Despite the team's mediocre season they still clinched the final playoff berth. Their participation in the postseason was short lived as they were eliminated by FC Ukraine United in the first round. While their reserve squad faced a similar fate in the Second Division after losing to FC Vorkuta B in the opening round. The club's top goalscorer was Slavko Knezevic with three goals. Summary After the departure of Sasa Vukovic to Hamilton City SC, the club brought in Milan Prpa as head coach. The roster assembled by Prpa remained primarily the same as the previous seasons with many notable veterans returning. Overall the changes in management achieved little difference in the performance of the club. Brantford Galaxy Soccer Club was a semi-professional Canadian soccer club based in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, with their home venue located in Hamilton, Ontario at the Heritage Field Turf. The club competes in the Canadian Soccer League, a league not sanctioned by a FIFA-recognized body. The Galaxy were formed in 2010 as an expansion franchise. In their first season Brantford recorded a milestone by becoming the first expansion franchise in CSL history to claim a CSL Championship in their debut season. After their championship season the club faced several problems ranging from change of ownership, to philosophical differences within team management, and to a lack of commitment from feeder clubs resulting in the team missing the postseason in two straight years. Dejan Ristić
Dejan Ristić ( sr-cyr, Дејан Ристић; born 6 March 1978) is a Serbian football midfielder who played as a midfielder. Career Ristić began his career in 2001 with FK Zvezdara in the Second League of FR Yugoslavia. During his time in the Second League he played with OFK Niš, FK Car Konstantin, FK Radnički Pirot, FK Kosanica, and FK Radnički Niš. In 2007, he signed with FK Sevojno in the Serbian First League, and signed with Dinamo Vranje in 2008. He left Dinamo after one season, claiming the club failed to pay his wages. Valeriy Haidarzhi (born December 17, 1986) is a Ukrainian footballer who plays as a midfielder. Career Haidarzhi began his career in 2003 in the Ukrainian Second League with FC Chornomorets-2 Odesa. Yaroslav Solonynko (born April 2, 1991) is a Ukrainian footballer who plays with Toronto Falcons in the Canadian Soccer League. Career Europe Solonynko began his career in 2008 with FC Dynamo Khmelnytskyi in the Ukrainian Second League. Throughout his tenure with Dynamo, he played in 20 matches for two seasons. Birchmount Stadium is a multi-purpose outdoor sports facility in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located near Kingston Road and Birchmount Road in the former city of Scarborough.
