2017–18 UNC Wilmington Seahawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 UNC Wilmington Seahawks men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Wilmington during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Seahawks were led by first-year head coach C. B. McGrath and played their home games at the Trask Coliseum as members of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 11–21, 7–11 in CAA play to finish in sixth place. They defeated Hofstra in the quarterfinals of the CAA tournament before losing in the semifinals to Northeastern. Previous season The Seahawks finished the 2016–17 season 29–6, 15–3 in CAA play to win the regular season championship. They defeated Delaware, William & Mary, and the College of Charleston to win the CAA tournament. Jackie Manuel
Jackie Kameron Manuel (born March 29, 1983) is an American basketball coach and former professional player who is the Director of Player Personnel, Development and Recruiting Operations for the North Carolina Tar Heels of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). College career Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, Manuel gained notoriety as a defensive specialist for the North Carolina Tar Heels from 2001-2005. He started 85 out of 126 games for the Tar Heels. Manuel was also a tri-captain of UNC's 2005 National championship team. The 2016–17 Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team represented the University of Virginia during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, in their 112th season of play. The team was led by head coach Tony Bennett, in his eighth year, and played their home games at John Paul Jones Arena as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Devontae Calvin Cacok ( ; born October 8, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for CSKA Moscow of the VTB United League. He played college basketball for the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, where in the 2017–18 season he led the nation in rebounding. Early life Cacok was born in Chicago, Illinois to a Haitian-American father Harry Cacok and Rose Lewis, and grew up in Riverdale, Georgia, playing football as a youth, mainly on the offensive line. He first began playing basketball in eight grade after he fractured his wrist, ending his football season. Cacok admits being terrible at first, but joined his high school varsity team after a seven-inch growth spurt as a sophomore. Florida Atlantic Owls Men's Basketball
The Florida Atlantic Owls men's basketball team represents Florida Atlantic University and competes in Conference USA of NCAA Division I college basketball. Their home games are played on the Abessinio Court in the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on the school's Boca Raton, Florida campus. Their head coach is Dusty May, who was hired on March 22, 2018.
