2017–18 NJIT Highlanders Men's Basketball Team
The 2017–18 NJIT Highlanders men's basketball team represented the New Jersey Institute of Technology during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by second-year head coach Brian Kennedy, played their home games at the Wellness and Events Center in Newark, New Jersey as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN). They finished the season 14–16, 7–7 in ASUN play to finish in a tie for fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the ASUN tournament to North Florida. The season marked the first season for the Wellness and Events Center, a $110 million athletic center on the school's campus. Previous season The Highlanders finished the 2016–17 season 11–20, 3–11 in ASUN play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the ASUN tournament to Lipscomb. Brian Kennedy (basketball)
Brian Kennedy is an American college basketball coach and current head coach for the NJIT Highlanders men's basketball team. Playing career Kennedy grew up in Rumson, New Jersey and attended Christian Brothers Academy. In college, Kennedy his playing career with Princeton before transferring and completing his college career at Monmouth. Coaching career Upon graduation, Kennedy took over his family's basketball business, The Hoop Group, one of the largest instructional basketball camps in the United States. He stayed in that role until 1997 when he joined the staff at DePaul as an assistant until 2002. From 2002 to 2009, Kennedy left coaching and worked in the financial sector. Kennedy returned to coaching in 2009 as an assistant at NJIT under Jim Engles, and upon Engles departure to Columbia, Kennedy was elevated to the head coach. Fairmont State University is a public university in Fairmont, West Virginia. History Fairmont State University’s roots reach back to the formation of public education in the state of West Virginia. Hofstra Pride Men's Basketball
The Hofstra Pride men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, United States. Hofstra played its first game in 1936, and currently competes in the Colonial Athletic Association. Arenas The Hofstra Pride play their games at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. A gill () is a respiratory organ that many aquatic organisms use to extract dissolved oxygen from water and to excrete carbon dioxide. The gills of some species, such as hermit crabs, have adapted to allow respiration on land provided they are kept moist.
