The Bowl (Douglas)
The King George V Bowl (commonly known as The Bowl) is a multi-use stadium in Douglas, Isle of Man, and the home of F.C. Isle of Man. With a capacity of 3,350, a third of which are under cover, and a viewing platform for disabled users, it is the largest stadium on the Island. The Bowl also serves as the home of the Isle of Man Football Association, Isle of Man official football team and Ellan Vannin football team. The highest attendance (3,327 spectators) was registered in the F.A. Inter League Cup Final on 28.04.12 against Jersey. Nicknamed "The Bernabowl" by local supporters in reference to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, The Bowl has been the home ground of F.C. St John's, Isle Of Man
St John's () is a small village in the sheading of Glenfaba in the Isle of Man, in the Island's central valley. It is in the House of Keys constituency of Glenfaba & Peel, which elects two MHKs. Tynwald Day Tynwald Hill, the original assembly place for the Isle of Man parliament, Tynwald, is the scene of the annual ceremony in which the laws of the Isle of Man are promulgated in English and Manx, usually on 5 July. Tynwald Day attracts thousands of spectators to watch the ceremony and participate in the Tynwald Fair. Tynwald Day, 5 July, corresponded to St John's feast day by the Julian calendar, which was the date held to be midsummer day; so Tynwald Day was a midsummer fair. The Anglican church in the village is dedicated to St John and the village takes its name from the church. Port Erin
Port Erin ( 'lord's port' or originally 'Irish port') is a seaside village in the south-west of the Isle of Man, in the historic parish of Rushen. It was previously a seaside resort before the decline of the tourist trade. Administratively it is designated as a village district, with its own board of Commissioners. The district covers around 1 square mile, and is adjacent to: Port St Mary to the south-east; the main part of Arbory and Rushen parish district to the north and east; the sea to the west; and an exclave of Arbory and Rushen parish district (including the village of Cregneash) to the south. Following recent residential expansion, the settlement is now contiguous with that of Port St Mary, and on 18 July 2018 Tynwald authorised a public enquiry into the proposed expansion of the district boundary to include some of this expansion. Ramsey () is a coastal town in the north of the Isle of Man. In 2024 it became the largest town on the Island after Douglas, Isle of Man, Douglas was granted city status. Laxey () is a village on the east coast of the Isle of Man. Its name derives from the Old Norse ''Laxa'' meaning 'Salmon River'. Its key distinguishing features are its three working vintage railways and the largest working waterwheel in the world. It is also the location of King Orry's Grave. Onchan
Onchan (; ) is a large village in the parish of Onchan (parish), Onchan on the Isle of Man. It is at the north end of Douglas Bay. Administratively a district, it has the second largest population of settlements on the island, after Douglas, Isle of Man, Douglas, with which it forms a conurbation. In Manx language, Manx the name for the village is ''Kione Droghad'' meaning "bridge end". Early history In the 1890s, a 5,000-year-old stone age axe was found in the Cassa Field by Onchan wetlands.
