2017–18 FC Pyunik Season
The 2017–18 season is Pyunik's 24th season in the Armenian Premier League. Season events Prior to the start of the season, Armen Gyulbudaghyants was appointed as the club's manager on 16 June. Less than two-months later, on 8 August 2017, Aleksei Yeryomenko signed a one-year contract with Pyunik to be their manager, but left the club on 31 October 2017, with Armen Gyulbudaghyants returning to manage the team. Football Club Pyunik Yerevan ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Փյունիկ Երևան, Futbolayin Akumb P’yunik Yerevan), commonly known as Pyunik (" Phoenix"), is an Armenian professional sports club based in the Kentron neighbourhood of Yerevan. Pyunik is mostly known for its professional football team which, since its creation in 1992, has always played in the Armenian Premier League, becoming the most successful team of Armenia in number of official titles, with 31 won to date. Internationally, Pyunik has yet to win an international title, with the closest result being a bronze place finish in the 2006 Commonwealth of Independent States Cup. Pyunik's domestic success usually qualifies the team for UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. Pyunik is also known to be one of the most popular football clubs in Armenia, along with Urartu, Shirak and Ararat. Armen Manucharyan
Armen Manucharyan (born 3 February 1995) is an Armenian international footballer who plays as a right back, for Van. Club career Born in Yerevan, he has played club football for Banants and Pyunik. On 10 August 2020, he signed with Russian Premier League club FC Rotor Volgograd. On 27 February 2021, Manucharyan joined Aktobe in Kazakhstan. On 23 June 2021, after 11 games for Aktobe, Manucharyan left the club by mutual consent. On 18 August 2021, Manucharyan returned to the Armenian Premier League, signing for Urartu. Levon Hayrapetyan ( hy, Լևոն Հայրապետյան, born 17 April 1989), also known as Levon Hairapetian, is an Armenian former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He is the son of Olympic medal winning field hockey player Sos Hayrapetyan. Club career Hayrapetyan is the pupil of the German school of football. He played in the amateur Bramefeldere 1945 club and the youth team of Hamburger SV. As part of Hamburger SV II, he spent seven games. Hayrapetyan also played four matches for Pyunik Yerevan. Didier Kadio (born 5 April 1990) is an Ivorian footballer who plays as a defender or defensive midfielder. Career Club At the beginning of April 2014, Kadio moved to Kazakhstan, signing a loan deal with FC Zhetysu until the end of the 2014 season. Bacar Baldé (born 15 January 1992) is a Bissau-Guinean professional footballer who plays for Portuguese club SC Ideal mainly as a left back but also as a left midfielder. Karlen Mkrtchyan ( hy, Կառլեն Մկրտչյան; born 25 November 1988) is an Armenian professional footballer who most recently played as a midfielder for FC Pyunik in the Armenian Premier League. Career Club Pyunik Karlen Mkrtchyan is a graduate the Armenian football club school Pyunik Yerevan. Since 2007, he played for the first team.
