2017 RideLondon–Surrey Classic
The 2017 Prudential RideLondon–Surrey Classic was a road cycling one-day race that took place on 30 July in London, England. It was the sixth edition of the London–Surrey Classic and was the twenty-eighth event of the 2017 UCI World Tour. It was the race's first appearance on the World Tour calendar. The race was won in a sprint finish by Norway's Alexander Kristoff, riding for . Teams As a new event to the UCI World Tour, all UCI WorldTeams were invited to the race, but not obligated to compete in the race. As such, fourteen of the eighteen WorldTeams elected to compete. Eight UCI Professional Continental teams competed, and thus completed the 22-team peloton. 2017 UCI World Tour
The 2017 UCI World Tour was a competition that included thirty-seven road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2017 in men's road cycling, 2017 men's cycling season. It was the ninth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The competition started with the opening stage of the 2017 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 17 January and concluded with the final stage of the 2017 Tour of Guangxi, Tour of Guangxi on 24 October. Slovakia's Peter Sagan was the defending champion. The 2017 edition featured ten new events. Sagan was unable to defend his World Tour title, winning just one race overall at the 2017 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec in September, as he finished fourth in the points rankings; he finished one point behind third-placed Tom Dumoulin. Oliver Naesen
Oliver Naesen (; born 16 September 1990) is a Belgian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Considered a specialist of the one-day classics, he won the 2017 Belgian National Road Race Championships, as well as the Bretagne Classic in 2016 and 2018. He is the brother of fellow racing cyclist Lawrence Naesen. Career Fidea (2004–2008) Born in Sandweiler, Drucker signed with in 2004, a team specializing in cyclo-cross, at age 18. The UCI WorldTour is the premier men's elite road cycling tour, sitting above the UCI ProSeries and various regional UCI Continental Circuits. It refers to both the tour of 38 events and, until 2019, an annual ranking system based upon performances in these.
