2016–17 OK Liga
The 2016–17 OK Liga is the 48th season of the top-tier league of rink hockey in Spain. It started on 24 September 2016 and finished on 3 June 2017. Teams After the end of the previous season, Cerceda resigned to its spot in OK Liga, being Lloret Vila Esportiva spared from relegation. Overview On 7 May 2017, Barcelona Lassa achieved its 28th title, fourth consecutive, after earning a 4–4 draw in the round 27 at the rink of its historic rival Reus Deportiu La Fira. It was played in Alcobendas between the seven first qualified teams after the first half of the season and Reicomsa Alcobendas as host team. OK Liga
The OK Liga is the Spanish rink hockey league. History The league was founded in 1969 as División de Honor as an expansion to all the Spanish territory of the Catalan Championship. Until 1971 teams from outside Catalonia did not join the competition. The league changed its name to OK Liga in 2003 and in 2009 the playoffs for the title, that were established in the 2000–01 season, were abolished while several rules from other sports were approved. In April 2017, a new name change for the 2017–18 season was approved and the top tier would be renamed as the OK Liga Oro while the second tier as ''OK Liga Plata''. Also, a new national third tier competition ''OK Liga Bronce'' (with four interregional groups) was foreseen, but due to the lack of interested teams, it wasn't created and the third tier remained at regional level. Pazo Dos Deportes De Riazor
Pazo dos Deportes de Riazor is a multi-purpose sports arena in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. Located at Riazor's sports complex, the venue has 4,425 seats and a maximum capacity of 5,000 people. The arena is owned by the A Coruña City Hall and faces Estadio Riazor. History Construction started in November 1968 and finished with its opening on August 1, 1970, hosting a roller hockey match between Spain and a World Team composed of several players. Riazor hosted the Roller Hockey World Cups of 1972 and 1988. In 2018, Riazor was the venue for one of that season's Women's Flat Track Derby Association Playoffs, featuring roller derby teams from the United States, Argentina, England, France, Finland and Sweden. The tournament was held from August 31 through September 2, and won by Arch Rival Roller Derby from St. Louis, United States. The arena was renovated in 2011.
