Television In Denmark
Television in Denmark was established in the 1950s and was run by a monopoly with only one channel available until the 1980s. History The first television broadcasts in Denmark started on 2 October 1951. These were carried out by the national radio broadcaster Statsradiofonien and consisted of a one-hour broadcast three times per week. The broadcasts were initially limited to a few hundred homes in the capital area. Daily broadcasts started in 1954. With the opening of the Gladsaxe transmitter, most of Zealand could watch television. The entire country was covered in 1960 when the transmitter on Bornholm opened. Statsradiofonien was renamed Danmarks Radio (DR) in 1959. The first news programme, TV-Avisen, started in 1965. Colour television started test transmissions in 1967, with colour television becoming the norm in filming and broadcasting from 1970 on. Lighthouse X
Lighthouse X (pronounced "Lighthouse Ten") was a Danish boyband consisting of Søren Bregendal, Johannes Nymark and Martin Skriver. The band was formed in 2012 with the goal of helping people who face challenges in their lives. They work as ambassadors of three different non-profit organizations who also receive a percentage of the groups profit. They represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm with the song " Soldiers of Love". Lighthouse X disbanded in August 2016. The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 was the 61st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Stockholm, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Heroes (Måns Zelmerlöw song), Heroes" by Måns Zelmerlöw. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (SVT), the contest was held at the Avicii Arena, Globe Arena and consisted of two semi-finals on 10 and 12 May, and a final on 14 May 2016. Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Soldiers of Love" written by Sebastian F. Ovens, Daniel Lund Jørgensen, Katrine Klith Andersen, Søren Bregendal, Johannes Nymark and Martin Skriver. The song was performed by the group Lighthouse X. The Danish broadcaster DR (broadcaster), DR organised the national final ''Melodi Grand Prix 2016'' in order to select the Danish entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Ten songs competed in a televised show where the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. The results of the first round were decided upon through the combination of jury voting and public voting while in the second round, the winner was selected solely by public televoting. "Soldiers of Love" performed by Lighthouse X was the winner after gaining 42% of the public vote. Embrace (duo)
KAPUTU, formerly known as Embrace and NEW:NAME, is a Danish sister duo consisting of Anilde and Azilda Kaputu. They became the winners of the ninth season of the Danish version of the X Factor. They received 60% of the public vote and became the second group to win the competition. After they won their winning single Commitment Issues was released on the Music Services. On 21 April, they changed their band name to NEW:NAME. On 20 May they released their debut EP called True Story. ''X Factor'' is a Danish television music competition to find new singing talent. In season 9, Sofie Linde Lauridsen replaced Eva Harlou as host. Thomas Blachman and Remee returned for their respective eighth and sixth seasons as judges, joined by newcomer Mette Lindberg. Lina Rafn, after four seasons as a judge, did not return. The winners were Embrace and Remee became the winning mentor for the third time and for the first time in the Danish ''X Factor'' history a judge has won two years in a row. Judges and hosts On March 20, 2015, it was reported that Lina Rafn was considering leaving ''X Factor''. Five days later, it was reported that Rafn would be leaving the show. At the final of season 8 on March 27, Rafn said in an interview that she did not know if she would continue as a judge. Thomas Blachman said it was maybe time for three new judges. ''X Factor'' is the Denmark, Danish version of British TV show ''The X Factor'', created by Simon Cowell. The show premiered on 4 January 2008. For the first eleven seasons, the show was broadcast on DR1 before moving to TV 2 (Denmark), TV 2 from the X Factor (Danish season 12), twelfth season onwards. There have been sixteen winners to date, most notable are Martin Hoberg Hedegaard (2008), Thomas Ring Petersen (2010), Anthony Jasmin (2014), Place on Earth (2018) & Meum Zel, Mads Moldt (2022). The original judging panel consisted of Thomas Blachman, Lina Rafn and Remee. The current panel consists of Blachman and Martin Jensen (DJ), Martin Jensen. Sarah Mahfoud (born 29 September 1989) is a Faroese-born Danish professional boxer who won the IBF female featherweight title in July 2020. She subsequently lost to Amanda Serrano in a title unification bout in Manchester on 24 September 2022. As of April 2024, she is ranked as the world's second best active female featherweight by BoxRec and The Ring (magazine), ''The Ring''. Vild Med Dans
''Vild med dans'' is the Danish version of the British reality TV competition ''Strictly Come Dancing'' and is part of the ''Dancing with the Stars'' franchise. It is shown on TV 2 in Denmark. Seasons 1 and 2 were co-hosted by Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph and Peter Hansen. Rudolph and Hansen were replaced in season 3 by Christine Lorentzen and Claus Elming. Rudolph returned to take Lorentzen's place as co-host from seasons 4 to 6. Season 7, 8 and 9 saw Christiane Schaumburg-Müller take Rudolph's place as Elming's co-host. Since season 10, Elming has co-hosted with Sarah Grünewald. The original judges were Britt Bendixen, Jens Werner, Anne Laxholm and Kim Dahl . Dahl was replaced by Thomas Evers Poulsen, who is currently the only person to appear on the show as both a professional and judge. Nexo Knights
''Nexo Knights'' (stylized in all caps) is a 3D animated television series that aired on Cartoon Network and premiered in 2015. It was produced by the Lego Group to coincide with the Lego theme of the same name. The series is based on a fantasy castle concept. Four seasons were produced for a total of 40 episodes. The fourth season finished airing in 2017. In 2018, the Lego Group discontinued the ''Nexo Knights'' theme, which also resulted in the cancellation of the series. A fifth season was also intended to be released with 1 wave of sets releasing for it. The show was cancelled before it aired.
