2016 TCR International Series Sochi Round
The 2016 TCR International Series Sochi round was the seventh round of the 2016 TCR International Series season. It took place on 2–3 July at the Sochi Autodrom. Stefano Comini won the first race, starting from pole position, driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, and Mikhail Grachev gained the second one, driving a Honda Civic TCR. Ballast Due to the results obtained in the previous round, Dušan Borković received +30 kg, Maťo Homola +20 kg and James Nash +10 kg. In addition, the Balance of Performance was reviewed for this round: the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR's ride height has been reduced by 10mm. Sochi Autodrom
The Sochi Autodrom (russian: Сочи Автодром, Sochi Avtodrom), previously known as the Sochi International Street Circuit and the Sochi Olympic Park Circuit, is a permanent race track in the settlement of Sirius next to the Black Sea resort town of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The circuit runs around a former Olympic complex, the Sochi Olympic Park site, scene of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The TCR International Series raced at Sochi in 2015 and 2016, with the TCR Russian Series and SMP F4 Championship as support series. Dušan Borković ( sr-cyr, Душан Борковић; born 16 September 1984) is a Serbian auto racing driver, two time European champion 2012 European Hill Climb Championship and 2015 European Touring Car Cup. Michela Cerruti (born 18 February 1987) is an Italian racing driver, currently competing in the TCR International Series, with Mulsanne Racing. Career Born in Rome, Cerruti attended the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, studying Psychology. Cerruti's racing career began after her father Aldo 'Baronio' Cerruti, also a racing driver, decided to enrol her in a safe driving course with Mario Ferraris, son of Romeo Ferraris, a race-car tuner and constructor. Impressed by Michela's 'speed and instinctive car control', Ferraris convinced Cerruti's father to let her race. Vladimir Sheshenin (born 10 March 1989) is a Russian racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series. Having previously competed in the Russian Circuit Racing Series, LADA Granta Cup & LADA Revolution Cup amongst others. Racing career Sheshenin began his career in 2001 in Karting, he raced there for many seasons up until 2008. In 2006 he switched to the LADA Revolution Cup, he raced there for a single season and finished 4th in the championship standings at the end of the season. Ildar Ilhamovich Rakhmatullin (born 6 March 1986) is a Russian racing driver currently competing in the Russian Circuit Racing Series. He previously competed in the TCR International Series and FIA European Rallycross Championship. Racing career Rakhmatullin began his career in 1996 in karting. In 2007 he switched to the Russian Ice Racing Championship, and he won the championship that year.
