The Ohio general elections, 2016 were held on November 8, 2016, throughout Ohio. The close of registration for electors in the primary election was December 16, 2015, and the primary election took place on March 15, 2016. Federal President Senate Incumbent Republican senator Rob Portman won re-election to a second term in office, defeating former governor Ted Strickland. House of Representatives All of Ohio's 16 seats in the United States House of Representatives were up for election in 2016. State General Assembly Summary Senate Senate The 16 even-numbered districts out of 33 seats in the Ohio Senate were up for election in 2016. The Ohio general elections, 2018, were held on November 6, 2018, throughout Ohio. Bill Seitz
William J. Seitz III (born October 29, 1954) is the state representative for the 30th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican. The district consists of Cheviot, Delhi Township, Green as well as portions of Cincinnati, in Hamilton County. Formerly, Seitz represented the same seat from 2001 to 2007. He served in the Ohio Senate from 2007 to 2016. He has also served as Majority Leader since 2017 serving under five different speakers and two interim speakers. John Eklund (Ohio Politician)
John J. Eklund is a former Republican member of the Ohio Senate for the 18th district. He was appointed in November 2011 to replace Tim Grendell, who was appointed as a judge in Geauga County. The selection committee considered thirteen candidates for the appointment. He is the Chairman of the Senate Criminal Justice Committee. Stephanie Kunze
Stephanie Kunze is an American politician who served as a member of the Ohio Senate for the 16th district. She formerly served in the Ohio House of Representatives for the 24th district. Prior to her election, she was a member of Hilliard City Council and a secretary at Norwich Elementary School. Career In her 2009 race for Hilliard City Council, Kunze faced controversy over an apparent violation of Ohio law that prohibits classified public employees from participating in partisan primary elections. Jim Hughes (born September 7, 1964) is a former state representative for the 24th District of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican. The district consists of portions of Columbus, as well as Grove City, Hilliard, Upper Arlington, and Worthington in Franklin County. Hughes formerly was a member of the Ohio Senate from 2009 to 2016. He served in a similar seat in the House as well from 2000 to 2008. Joe Uecker
Joe Uecker (born November 27, 1954) is a former Republican member of the Ohio Senate, representing the 14th District from 2013 to 2019. He formerly served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2005 to 2012. Career Uecker worked in law enforcement for the City of Deer Park, Clermont County Sheriff's Office, and the City of Montgomery before parlaying his management degree into the private sector in 1988. He also co-owned a private business for three years. Keith Faber (born January 19, 1966) is an American lawyer and politician from Ohio. A Republican, he has been State Auditor of Ohio since 2019.
