American League West
The American League West is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. The division has five teams as of the 2013 season, but had four teams from 1994 to 2012, and had as many as seven teams before the 1994 realignment. Although its teams currently only reside along the west coast and in Texas, historically the division has had teams as far east as Chicago. From 1998 (when the NL West expanded to five teams) to 2012, the AL West was the only MLB division with four teams. The current champion of this division is the Houston Astros. In 2013, the Houston Astros went from the National League Central to the AL West. That move gives all six MLB divisions an equal five teams and both leagues an equal 15 teams each. Rich Hill (pitcher)
Richard Joseph Hill (born March 11, 1980), nicknamed "Dick Mountain", is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Rays and New York Mets. He played college baseball for the Michigan Wolverines. Hill was drafted three times in the Major League Baseball draft (1999, 2001 and 2002) before signing with the Cubs. Hill has earned both American League and National League Pitcher of the Month honors. He is the only pitcher in Major League history to have had a perfect game broken up by a 9th-inning fielding error as well as the only pitcher in Major League history to have a no-hitter broken up in extra innings by a walk-off home run. Nick Vincent (baseball)
Nicholas James Vincent (born July 12, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves. Vincent was drafted by the Padres in the 18th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, and made his major league debut in 2012. John Berton Axford (born April 1, 1983), nicknamed "Ax Man", is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Kendall Chase Graveman (born December 21, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros. Graveman played college baseball for Mississippi State University. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
