2016 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship
The 2016 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship was the 122nd staging of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Limerick County Board. The championship began on 7 May 2016 and ended on 23 October 2016. Na Piarsaigh were the defending champions, however, they failed to make it out of the group stage. On 23 October 2016, Patrickswell won the championship after a 1–26 to 1–07 defeat of Ballybrown in the final. It was their first championship title since 2003 and a record-equalling 19th championship title overall. Doon GAA
Doon GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, founded in 1888. It is based in the village of Doon in County Limerick, Ireland. The club is part of the East Division of the Limerick GAA and has a tremendous record at underage level, but has yet to win a County Senior Hurling Championship. The club only plays hurling, but footballers in the parish play with neighbouring Oola. The manager is Austin Buckley. Location The club is located in the parish of Doon, mostly in County Limerick but also containing a few townlands in County Tipperary; these can play with the other club in the parish, Glengar, which is affiliated to the Tipperary GAA County Board. 1995 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship
The 1995 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship was the 101st staging of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Limerick County Board. Kilmallock were the defending champions. On 24 September 1995, Patrickswell won the championship after a 2–19 to 0–08 defeat of Ballybrown in the final. It was their 14th championship title overall and their first title in two championship seasons. Gaelic Grounds
The Gaelic Grounds, know for sponsorshop reasons as the TUS Gaelic Grounds, is the principal GAA stadium in the Irish city of Limerick, home to the Limerick hurling and football teams. It has a capacity of 44,023. History 9 October 1926 saw first steps taken towards creating the Limerick Gaelic Grounds as a GAA stadium of note. A farm containing was purchased at Coolraine on the Ennis Road for development as a sporting grounds. Two years later the new grounds officially opened with two junior hurling games. The first big effort to raise funds for the development of the grounds was in 1932, with the establishment of a development committee, whose remit was to level the pitch, providing sideline seating and erect a boundary wall. Ahane GAA
Ahane GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Ahane, Castleconnell and Montpelier areas of east County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. The club fields teams in both hurling and football and historically is regarded as one of the great clubs of Limerick. Adare GAA
Adare GAA club is a GAA club based in Adare, County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Adare have reached the County Senior Hurling Final on 12 occasions. After losing the finals of 1968, 1986, 1990, 1993 and 1996, they finally won their first championship in 2001 and successfully defended it in 2002. In 2003, they narrowly missed out on winning three county titles in a row after losing out to Patrickswell in the final.
