2016 ICC World Twenty20 Squads
The 2016 ICC World Twenty20 was the sixth ICC World Twenty20, and the first to be hosted by India. Sri Lanka were the defending champions, having won the 2014 edition. The following squads were chosen for the tournament. Gulbadin Naib
Gulbadin Naib (born 4 June 1991) is an Afghan cricketer. An all-rounder, Naib bats right-handed and bowls right-arm fast-medium. In April 2019, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) named Naib the team's new One Day International (ODI) captain ahead of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, replacing Asghar Afghan. However, following the Cricket World Cup, where Afghanistan lost all of their matches, Rashid Khan was named as the new captain of the Afghanistan cricket team across all three formats. Darren Scott Lehmann (born 5 February 1970) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who coached the Australian national team. Usman Ghani (; born 20 November 1996) is an Afghan international cricketer. He is a right-handed opening batsman. Career Ghani made his debut in the 2014 Asian Cricket Council Premier League against Hong Kong at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur on May 1, 2014. Shapoor Zadran (; born 8 July 1987) is an Afghan cricketer who currently plays for the national cricket team. He is a left-arm fast-medium bowler. Early life Zadran was born on 8 July 1987 in Logar Province, Afghanistan. He was a refugee in Peshawar, Pakistan, where he started playing cricket along with Mohammad Nabi, Asghar Stanikzai, and Dawlat Zadran. Mohammad Shahzad Mohammadi (; born 10 January 1988) is an Afghan cricketer who has represented his country in all three international formats. He is a right-handed opening batsman and a wicketkeeper.
