2016 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The 2016 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA's premier inter-county gaelic football competition for under 18's. 32 teams took part. The winners receive the Tom Markham Cup. The 2015 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, defending champions were Kerry GAA, Kerry who defeated Tipperary GAA, Tipperary in the 2015 final. Kerry beat Galway 3-07 to 0-09 in the final on 18 September 2016 for their third consecutive championship. Teams Thirty two teams contest the championship. New York GAA, New York and London GAA, London do not participate in this competition. Kilkenny GAA, Kilkenny fielded a team in 2016 despite not having participated in 2015. The defending champions were Kerry who defeated Donegal in the 2014 final. Kerry retained their title with a comprehensive 4-14 to 0-06 win over Munster rivals Tipperary. Teams A total of 31 teams will contest the championship. Kilkenny, New York and London do not participate in the competition. Format Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster organise four provincial championships on a knock-out basis. The Roscommon County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) () or Roscommon GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Roscommon. Leinster Minor Football Championship
The Leinster Minor Football Championship is the premier under-17 "knockout" competition in gaelic football played in the province of Leinster. 2017 was the final year of the minor under 18 football championship as it were replaced by an under 17 championship following a vote at the GAA Congress on 26 February 2016. The current Leinster champions are Longford. The Leinster minor football championship is known as the Fr. Larry Murray Trophy. The Cup is named after Fr.
