2016 AFC U-19 Championship
The 2016 AFC U-19 Championship was the 39th edition of the AFC U-19 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-19 national teams of Asia. The tournament was hosted by Bahrain, as announced by the AFC on 3 June 2015, and was scheduled to be played between 13–30 October 2016. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament. Same as previous editions, the tournament acted as the AFC qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The top four teams of the tournament qualified for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea as the AFC representatives, besides South Korea who qualified automatically as hosts. If South Korea were among the top four teams, three play-off matches would be played to decide the fifth-placed team which also qualify for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup; however, this was not necessary as South Korea were eliminated in the group stage. Sami Khalil Nasser Al-Najei (; born 7 February 1997) is a Saudi Arabian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Saudi Arabia national team and Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr. 1988 AFC Youth Championship
The 1988 AFC Youth Championship were held between October 17 and October 28 in Doha, capital of Qatar. Eight teams entered the final tournament, playing for the Asian Youth title and a spot at the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship in Saudi Arabia. Iraq won the tournament, beating Syria 4–3 after a penalty shootout. Hosts Qatar grabbed the third place. 2006 AFC Youth Championship
The 2006 AFC Youth Championship was the 34th instance of the AFC Youth Championship. It was held from 29 October to 12 November 2006 in India. It was the first time for India to host this tournament. Sixteen teams from the AFC qualified to the finals. The tournament was won by North Korea, their second championship after sharing the trophy with IRAN in 1976, defeating Japan 5–3 in a penalty shootout after extra time finished in a 1–1 draw. The 2002 AFC Youth Championship was the 32nd edition of the AFC Youth Championship, the biennial international youth Association football, football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-19 national teams of Asia.
