The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. 2015 United Football League (Philippines)
The 2015 United Football League was the sixth season of the UFL since its establishment as a semi-professional league in 2009. Ten teams competed in UFL Division 1 while seven teams were in Division 2. Global were the defending champions, having won the Division 1 of the 2014 United Football League season. Ceres outclassed Team Socceroo 6-0 on 15 July 2015 to clinch the 2015 United Football League title with two games to spare. Season summary UFL Division 1 headlined a complete 10-team cast for the highest level of Philippine League football. Ceres and Manila Jeepney played in Division I, replacing the relegated Pasargad and the spot left by Manila Nomads' last season. Tomas Angel Gonzalez Trigo (born June 8, 1989), also known as Tommy Trigo, is a Spanish-born Filipino former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He has been a member of the Philippines national team. Club career Loyola Trigo made his debut with the club in a 4-0 win against Laos FC. Towards the end of July 2016, Trigo left Loyola Meralco Sparks and subsequently quit the sport to move back to Spain and pursue a career in teaching. International career Trigo has a Filipino maternal grandfather making him eligible to play for the Philippines at the international level. Nathanael Ace Pineda Villanueva (born October 25, 1995) is a Filipino Association football, footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for Philippines Football League club Cebu F.C., Cebu. Career Villanueva played for the college team UP Fighting Maroons. He appeared for F.C. Meralco Manila, Meralco Manila and Kaya F.C.–Iloilo in the professional Philippines Football League. On May 12, 2018, Villanueva was named man of the match for his performance in Kaya's 2–0 win over Ceres–Negros F.C., Ceres–Negros. Anto Gonzales is a former Filipino footballer. He is the current head coach of University of the Philippines football team. Playing career Club Gonzales played for Diliman Victory Liner F.C. until 2012 when he was loan by Diliman to Loyola Meralco Sparks F.C. and played for the club in the 2012 UFL season. James Joseph Younghusband (born 4 September 1986) is a former professional footballer who played mostly as a right midfielder and sometimes as a forward. Born in Surrey, England to an English father and Filipino mother, Younghusband played for the youth team of Chelsea.
