2015–16 I-League 2nd Division Final Round
The 2015–16 I-League 2nd Division final round was the final round of 2015–16 I-League 2nd Division. Three teams each from Eastern Conference and Western Conference played in the final round. Dempo were the winner of the tournament, however in spite of earning the promotion, they withdrew from 2016–17 I-League. 2015–16 I-League
The 2015–16 I-League was the ninth season of the I-League, the Indian professional association football, football league, since its establishment in 2007. The season commenced on 9 January 2016, after the Indian Super League finished, and concluded on 24 April 2016. Bengaluru FC won their second I-League title after winning their first title in 2013–14 I-League, 2013–14. The defending champions Mohun Bagan A.C., Mohun Bagan finished second. I-League
The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. The league was launched as India's first ever top-tier professional football league with the aim to increase the player pool for the India national team.
