The 2015–16 Cypriot Second Division was the 61st season of the Cypriot second-level football league. It began on 18 September 2015 and ended on 26 March 2016. Karmiotissa won their first title. Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Β΄ Κατηγορίας) is the second highest football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administrated by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top two teams being promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last four teams being relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. History The Cypriot Second Division started unofficially the 1934–35 football season as the second level of the Cypriot football ( Cyprus Football Association founded in 1934). The competition consisted of teams that didn't participate in Cypriot First Division and the reserve teams of the Cypriot First Division clubs. In the reserve teams were allowed to participate only players that had no more than three caps with their team in First Division. Deryneia
Deryneia ( Greek: Δερύνεια; Turkish: ''Derinya'') is a large village in the island of Cyprus. It is located on the east side of the island, south of the city of Famagusta. The population of the village is 5,758 (October 2011 census) and it consists of a municipality since 1994. The current mayor is Andros Karayiannis. Since the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, around 75% of the village terrain is in Northern Cyprus. The village is 12 kilometers from the famous resort of Ayia Napa. The "Ghost Town" of Varosha can be clearly viewed from the roof of the Cultural Centre, as can the craters from shells fired during the invasion in the field opposite. The village has agricultural land around it, and is one of the "Kokkinochoria" (red villages) so called from the red soil. Omonia Aradippou () is a Cypriot professional football club based in Aradippou, a settlement on the outskirts of the city of Larnaca. ENAD Polis Chrysochous FC ( el, ΕΝΑΔ Πόλης Χρυσοχούς) is a football club based in Polis, Paphos, Cyprus that competes in the Cypriot Second Division. The team was established in 1994 after two local teams, Akamas Polis Chrysochous and Demetrakis Argakas, were united. Early years After the unification of the two local clubs, the whole Chrysochous area was united to provide a single Professional Football Team (EN for Enosis or in English United, A for Akamas and D for Demetrakis ). 2015–16 Cypriot Third Division
The 2015–16 Cypriot Third Division was the 45th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Akritas Chlorakas won their 3rd title. Format Sixteen teams participated in the 2015–16 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first three teams were promoted to the 2016–17 Cypriot Second Division and the last three teams were relegated to the 2016–17 STOK Elite Division. However, after the end of the season Nikos & Sokratis Erimis withdrew from the 2016–17 Cypriot Third Division, and so the 14th-placed team remained to Third Division. Point system Teams received three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. PAEEK ( el, ΠΑΕΕΚ; short for Ποδοσφαιρική Αθλητική Ένωση Επαρχίας Κερύνειας, ''Podosfairiki Athlitiki Enosi Eparxeias Kerynias'', translated as "Football and Sport Union of Kyrenia District", literally "Footballing Sportive Union of the District of Kyrenia") is a Cypriot sports club founded in Kyrenia in 1953 by graduates of Kyrenia Gymnasium and represented the first force to be reckoned from the small city.
