2015 VAFA Season
The 2015 VAFA season was the 115th season of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria (state), Victoria. The season began on 11 April and concluded on 20 September, with 70 teams participating across seven divisions under a promotion and relegation system. Association membership The Parkside Football Club returned to the VAFA after 12 years in the Northern Football Netball League, Northern Football League (NFL). Parkside had previously competed in the VAFA between 1938 VAFA season, 1938 and 2002 VAFA season, 2002, winning twelve senior premierships during that time. After two seasons in the Club XVIII competition, Masala Dandenong Football Club, Masala became a senior club, entering a senior and reserves side in #Division 4, Division 4. Western Region Football League
The Western Football Netball League (WFNL) is a semi-professional Australian rules football and netball league, based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. History The league was formed in 1931 as the Footscray District Football League (FDFL). During the 1950s, the VFL club Western Bulldogs, Footscray was financially backing the competition, so they decided to bar clubs that were inside the zone. This resulted in six clubs leaving. More changes occurred in 1952 as the league decided that clubs had to provide an under-18 competition; this action reduced the club numbers down to twelve. The next initiative was the introduction of an under-16 competition in 1954. In 1988, the league absorbed clubs from the West Suburban Football League; and, in 2000, to reflect the fact that the league had expanded across the western suburbs, it changed its name to the Western Region Football League (WRFL). Premier B
Premier is a title for the head of government in central governments, state governments and local governments of some countries. A second in command to a premier is designated as a deputy premier. A premier will normally be a head of government, but is not the head of state. Beaumaris Football Club
The Beaumaris Football Club, nicknamed the Sharks, is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Beaumaris. As of 2024, the club competes in the Premier B division of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and the VAFA Women's (VAFAW). History At a meeting held in the Beaumaris RSL in August 1962, the Beaumaris Football Club was established to represent the local area, which at the time was largely undeveloped. The club entered the South East Suburban Football League (SESFL) in 1963. By the 1980s, Beaumaris was established as a strong club in Division 1, but the club was also affected by financial issues. Old Scotch Football Club
The Old Scotch Football Club, nicknamed the Cardinals, is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Camberwell, Victoria, Camberwell. It affiliated with the List of Old Scotch Collegians, Old Scotch Collegians Association and maintains a close relationship with Scotch College, Melbourne, Scotch College. Melbourne University Football Club, often known simply as University, is an Australian rules football club based at the University of Melbourne. Founded in 1859, it is one of the oldest football clubs in the world. Old Xaverians Football Club
The Old Xaverians Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Kew, an inner suburb of Melbourne. The club was established in 1923 by alumni of Jesuit school Xavier College in Kew. The club is one of the most successful in the Victorian Amateur Football Association, having won 14 VAFA Premier Section flags, with its first in 1981. It won an unprecedented six premierships in six years between 1995 and 2000. The OXFC currently fields nine teams in the VAFA competition (seven men's, two women's). The rainbow flag or pride flag (formerly gay pride flag) is a LGBT symbols, symbol of LGBT pride, LGBTQ pride and LGBTQ movements, LGBTQ social movements.
