2014–15 Syracuse Orange Women's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Syracuse Orange women's basketball team represented Syracuse University during the 2014–15 college basketball season. Quentin Hillsman resumeed the responsibility as head coach for an eighth consecutive season. The Orange were second year members of the Atlantic Coast Conference and played their home games at the Carrier Dome. They finished the season 22–10, 11–5 in ACC play to finish in a tie for fourth place. They lost in the second round of the ACC women's tournament to Wake Forest. Quentin Hillsman
Quentin Jerome Hillsman (born October 16, 1970) is an American college basketball coach. He is currently an assistant coach at Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball, Ole Miss. He was previously the head women's basketball coach for the Syracuse Orange women's basketball, Syracuse Orange. He held that position from 2006 to 2021. Early life Hillsman was born in Suitland, Maryland. He is the only child of a computer business consultant, Horace Jerome Hillsman, and a music teacher, Joan Rucker Hillsman. After graduating from Forestville High School, Hillsman attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, before transferring to St. Mary's College of Maryland for his sophomore season. With the St. Mary's Seahawks, Seahawks, he ranked third in assists (330) and eighth in steals (130) and also set the school's single-game and season assist record. Swisher Gymnasium
Swisher Gymnasium is a 1,360-seat multi-purpose arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Built in 1953, it is currently the home to the Jacksonville University Dolphins men and women's basketball teams. Prior to the 2015–16 season, Jacksonville played its home games at both Swisher Gymnasium and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. In addition to athletic contests, Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson addressed students in 1963 at the gymnasium. Swisher Gymnasium was also used for several concerts including Dionne Warwick (November 9, 1967), Billy Joel (March, 1975), and K.C. and the Sunshine Band (September 7, 1979). Winter Haven is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The 2014–15 Baylor Lady Bears basketball team represented Baylor University in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. Returning as head coach is Hall of Famer Kim Mulkey for her 14th season. The team played its home games at the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas and were members of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 33–4, 16–2 in Big 12 to win the Big 12 regular season title. ACC–Big Ten Women's Challenge
The ACC–Big Ten Women's Challenge (or Big Ten–ACC Women's Challenge as it is called in alternating years) was an in-season NCAA Division I women's college basketball series established in 2007 that matches up teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Big Ten Conference. The challenge is identical in format to the men's ACC–Big Ten Challenge. The ACC–Big Ten Women's Challenge occurs early in the season, typically around late November or early December. The games were hosted by each of the schools. Originally, 11 games were played in the challenge, meaning one team from the ACC did not play each challenge. Nebraska's entry to the Big Ten allowed all 12 teams in each conference to play in the challenge. However, conference expansion in 2013 and 2014 led the ACC to have 15 schools while the Big Ten had 14 schools, leaving one ACC team out of the challenge each season. Spectrum Sports was a network of regional sports cable television stations serving much of the upstate New York area. The stations, which were owned and operated by Charter Communications through its acquisition of Time Warner Cable in May 2016, were available in Rochester, Binghamton, Syracuse and Buffalo. The 2014–15 Vermont Catamounts women's basketball team represented the University of Vermont in the America East Conference. The Catamounts were led by fifth year head coach Lori Gear McBride and played their home games in the Patrick Gym. 2014–15 South Carolina Gamecocks Women's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team represented the University of South Carolina during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Gamecocks, led by seventh year head coach Dawn Staley, played their home games at the Colonial Life Arena and were members of the Southeastern Conference. The Gamecocks repeated as Southeastern Conference regular season Champions; however, it was shared with Tennessee this year. The 2014–15 Gamecocks won their first SEC Tournament Championship by beating 2014–15 Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball team, Tennessee 62–46.
