2014–15 SC Bastia Season
The 2014–15 SC Bastia season was the 49th consecutive season of the club in the French professional leagues. The club competed in Ligue 1, the Coupe de la Ligue and the Coupe de France. Bastia started the season with Claude Makélélé as manager, as a replacement for departing Frédéric Hantz, with Didier Tholot as an assistant coach. However, after suffering a new Ligue 1 defeat against Guingamp in November, Makelele was sacked and replaced by Ghislain Printant, former head coach of Bastia's youth academy. SC Bastia
Sporting Club Bastiais ( co, Sporting Club di Bastia, commonly referred to as SC Bastia or simply Bastia) is a Corsican association football club based in Bastia on the island of Corsica. The club plays in Ligue 2, the second tier of French football, having won the 2020–21 Championnat National. The club plays its home matches at the Stade Armand Cesari located within the city. Bastia's main historical success include reaching the final of the 1977–78 edition of the UEFA Cup. The team was defeated by Dutch club PSV Eindhoven (0–0 at home, 0–3 away). François Modesto
François Joseph Modesto (born 19 August 1978) is a French former professional footballer who is the technical director of club Monza. He operated as a right back or central defender, and also as a defensive midfielder. His 19-year professional career was closely associated with Bastia, where he started and finished playing. Mathieu Philippe Peybernes (born 21 October 1990) is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Apollon Limassol. Sébastien Jean-Baptiste Squillaci (born 11 August 1980) is a French former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. From 2004 to 2010, he played 21 matches for the France national team while also making three appearances for the Corsica national team.
