2014–15 Brooklyn Nets Season
The 2014–15 Brooklyn Nets season was the franchise's 48th season, its 39th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and its third season playing in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The Nets finished the regular season with a 38–44 record, securing the eighth seed. In the playoffs, they met the top-seeded Atlanta Hawks in the First Round, losing in six games. The Nets would not make another playoff appearance until the 2018–19 season. Preseason NBA draft Pre-season trades On July 1, head coach Jason Kidd, was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for two second-round draft picks in 2015 and 2019. To replace Kidd, the Nets signed Lionel Hollins as head coach. Lionel Hollins
Lionel Eugene Hollins (born October 19, 1953) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who most recently served as an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A point guard, Hollins played for the Portland Trail Blazers, winning an NBA championship in 1977 and named an NBA All-Star in 1978. The Trail Blazers retired number, retired his No. 14. Playing career During his ten-year NBA career playing as a point guard he played for five teams, averaging 11.6 points and 4.5 assists per game. In 1974 Lionel suffered a serious injury from a moped crash when a bicyclist collided. Fortunately this did not affect his career, but ultimately his left pinky and ring finger never healed correctly. Andrei Gennadyevich Kirilenko (; born February 18, 1981), nicknamed AK-47, is a Russian basketball executive and former professional basketball player.
