2014 Vrbětice Ammunition Warehouse Explosions
In 2014, two explosions of ammunition depots occurred in Vrbětice, Vlachovice, in the Zlín District of the Czech Republic. The first explosion occurred on 16 October, and the second on 3 December. Two people were killed in the first explosion. The cleanup of unexploded ammunition left by the blasts was finished on 13 October 2020. According to the Security Information Service and the Police of the Czech Republic, two agents from GRU Unit 29155 were involved in the explosions, with the motivation of disrupting weapons supplies to Ukraine. On April 29th, 2024, Czech president Petr Pavel declared the investigations and information available to him confirm the event to be a Russian attack on Czech soil. Vrbětice
Vrbětice is a village and administrative part of Vlachovice in Zlín District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic. It is located in the valley of the river Vlára. History The first written mention of Vrbětice dates back to 1318. Although Vrbětice is in the immediate vicinity of Vlachovice, the village has always belonged to the Hošťálková rule and was at no time subject to Vlachovice. Serf conditions in Vrbětice were very mild. With the exception of forest work, its residents were exempt from forced labour. In the 1620 land register, a hereditary bailiff is documented for the first time in Vrbětice. In 1850, after the abolition of patrimonial, Vrbětice formed a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod and the judicial district Valašské Klobouky. War In Donbas (2014–2022)
The war in Donbas, or the Donbas war, was a phase of the Russo-Ukrainian War in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine. The war began in April 2014, when Russian paramilitaries seized several towns. Ukraine's military launched an operation against them, but failed to fully retake the territory. Poisoning Of Sergei And Yulia Skripal
The poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal, also known as the Salisbury poisoning, was a botched assassination attempt to poison Sergei Skripal, a former Russian military officer and double agent for the British intelligence agencies in the city of Salisbury, England on 4 March 2018. Sergei and his daughter, Yulia Skripal, were poisoned by means of a Novichok nerve agent. Both spent several weeks in hospital in a critical condition, before being discharged. A police officer, Nick Bailey, was also taken into intensive care after attending the incident, and was later discharged. The British government accused Russia of attempted murder and announced a series of punitive measures against Russia, including the expulsion of diplomats. Anatoly Vladimirovich Chepiga (, born 5 April 1979) is a Colonel (Eastern Europe), colonel in the Russian General Staff's Main Directorate (also known as GRU (Russian Federation), GRU), the military intelligence service of the Russia, Russian Federation. He is reported to have served in the Second Chechen War and the Russo-Ukrainian War. He is known to have operated under the cover names "Ruslan Tabarov" and "Ruslan Boshirov". Alexander Yevgenyevich Mishkin () is a doctor in the Russian General Staff's Main Directorate (also known as GRU), the military intelligence service of the Russian Federation. On 8 October 2018, investigative website Bellingcat and its partner '' The Insider'' claimed that Mishkin was one of the suspects in the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal and the killing of Dawn Sturgess, having travelled to the United Kingdom under the alias Alexander Petrov. Another alias he has used is Nicolaj Popa. Biography Mishkin was born on 13 July 1979, in the village of Loyga, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Soviet Union. He studied at the S. M.
