Richard Briggs
Richard Briggs (born 1952) is a Republican member of the Tennessee Senate representing the 7th district, which encompasses part of Knox County. Early life Richard Briggs was born on December 7, 1952. He attended the University of Kentucky Medical School receiving his M.D. and then completed a surgical residency and cardiothoracic fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center. He served in war zones including Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq as a trauma surgeon. He retired from the army with the rank of colonel. Career Briggs was elected to the 109th General Assembly. Stacey Campfield (born June 8, 1968) is an American politician. He served as the Republican member of the Tennessee Senate from the 7th district, including Knoxville, Farragut, University of Tennessee, Powell and other parts of Knox County. Ophelia Ford (born July 5, 1950) is a former member of the Tennessee Senate. She is the younger sister of former state senator John Ford and former Congressman Harold Ford, Sr., and the aunt of former Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. She represented Senate District 29, which covers South Memphis and North Memphis. Douglas Henry
Douglas Selph Henry Jr. (May 18, 1926 – March 5, 2017) was an American attorney and Democratic politician. He was the longest-serving member of the Tennessee legislature. He was a member of the Tennessee Senate, representing the 21st district (part of Davidson County). He served as a state senator beginning with his election to the 87th General Assembly, prior to which he was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives during the 79th General Assembly.
