2014 Speedway Grand Prix Of Sweden
The 2014 FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden was the fifth round of the 2014 Speedway Grand Prix season (the World Championship). The event took place on 14 June at the G&B Stadium in Målilla, Sweden. The round was the 20th Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden. The Grand Prix was won by the English rider Tai Woffinden (which was his third career Grand Prix win). G&B Stadium
The Skrotfrag Arena is a 15,000-capacity multi-use stadium in Målilla, Sweden. The stadium is regularly used as the venue for the World Championship races; the Speedway Grand Prix of Scandinavia and the Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden (rounds of the Speedway Grand Prix, which is the premier world event in motorcycle speedway. The Arena is also the home venue of the speedway team called Dackarna who race in the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien. The speedway track has a circumference of 305 metres. The stadium opened on 29 June 1993 when it was known as the new Målilla Motorstadion and the track record for 500cc is 55.1sec by Andreas Jonsson recorded on 23 August 2011. From 2006 until 2019 it was known as the G & B Arena for sponsorship purposes. In 2022, Bartosz Zmarzlik sealed his second world title at the stadium. Hultsfred Municipality
Hultsfred Municipality () is a municipality in Kalmar County, in south-eastern Sweden. The seat is in the town of Hultsfred. The present municipality was created in 1971 through the amalgamation of the market town ('' köping'') of Hultsfred (instituted in 1927) with a number of surrounding municipalities. Dennis Gustav Martin Andersson (born 3 June 1991) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Career He rode for the Atlas Wrocław in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga and continued to ride for the club until the end of the 2012 season. In 2013, he joined Stal Rzeszów for one season before completing a final season in Poland with Polonia Bydgoszcz. Martin Smolinski (born 6 December 1984) is a German motorcycle speedway rider. He is three-times world longtrack champion and eight times champion of Germany. Personal life Smolinski was born on 6 December 1984 in Munich, West Germany. He is of Polish descent through his paternal grandfather from Katowice. Career Smolinksi began riding in his natiove Germany for MSC Olching. He became the German junior champion in 2003 and after reaching the final 2003 Speedway Under-21 World Championship he signed for Coventry Bees in England. Coventry retained him for the following two seasons and his form improved over the next two seasons. In 2006, he signed for his first Polish club Rybnik and in 2007 became the German Champion for the first time. Andreas Karl Rune Jonsson (born 3 September 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish former international motorcycle speedway rider. He was a member of the Sweden speedway team that won the World Cup in 2003, 2004 and 2015. He earned 26 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Jan Fredrik Tobias (Freddie) Lindgren (born 15 September 1985) is a Swedish motorcycle speedway rider. He has won the silver medal and the bronze medal twice at the Speedway World Championship, in addition to the world team championship in 2015. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden. Lindgren's father Tommy Lindgren was a speedway rider before him, and his younger brother Ludvig also rides. Troy Matthew Batchelor (born 29 August 1987) is an Australian speedway rider. Career Australia Born in Brisbane, Queensland, Troy Batchelor enjoyed his first success when he won the 2001 Queensland and New South Wales Under-16 championships and followed this up by winning the 2003 Australian Under-16 Championship at the Bibra Lake Speedway in Perth. After graduating to the senior ranks following his 16th birthday, Batchelor won the Queensland State Championship in 2007 before he moved to Adelaide in South Australia where he has won the South Australian Championship at the Gillman Speedway six times (2008-2011, 2013, 2017).
