2014 French Open
The 2014 French Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 113th edition (84th as a Grand Slam) of the French Open and the second Grand Slam event of the year. It took place at the Stade Roland Garros from 25 May to 8 June. It consisted of events for professional players in singles, doubles and mixed doubles play. Junior and wheelchair players also took part in singles and doubles events. Rafael Nadal was the four-time defending champion in the men's singles and defeated Novak Djokovic in the men's singles final to win his 9th French Open title and his 14th Grand Slam title. The victory made Nadal the first tennis player to have won 5 consecutive French Open titles, in addition to becoming the only man with at least one Grand Slam title in 10 consecutive years. Horacio Zeballos Jr. (, ; born 27 April 1985) is an Argentine professional tennis player. He reached a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 1 on 6 May 2024, becoming the first Argentinian man to achieve the feat. He is a Grand Slam champion at the 2025 French Open with Marcel Granollers. In singles, Zeballos has a career-high singles ranking of No. 39, achieved on 4 March 2013. Gerald Melzer
Gerald Melzer (born 13 July 1990) is an Austrian professional inactive tennis player who competed mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 68 in November 2016. Gerald is also part of Austrian Davis Cup team, for which he recorded four singles wins and six losses. Career Gerald Melzer has primarily spent his time on the Futures circuit, while also playing Challengers and several doubles events with his brother. He began playing on the tour in 2007, competing in tournaments in Austria as well as Futures tournaments in Africa. Samuel Groth (born 19 October 1987) is an Australian politician and a former professional tennis player. Sitting as a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, Groth represents the Liberal Party in the seat of Nepean. He is currently the deputy leader of the Victorian Liberal Party. Peter Polansky ( ; born June 15, 1988) is a Canadian professional tennis player of Czech origin. He was Canada's top singles player from June 21, 2010, until January 17, 2011, in the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP rankings. He was also Canada's No. 2 from August 4, 2008, until June 21, 2010, with the exception of one week. Ričardas Berankis (; born June 21, 1990) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player. He is the first and only Lithuanian to enter the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest ranked Lithuanian tennis player of all time. Berankis has reached two finals on the ATP World Tour, at the Los Angeles Open (tennis), Los Angeles Open in 2012 and at the Kremlin Cup in 2017. Ryan Harrison
Ryan Harrison (born May 7, 1992) is an American former professional tennis player. Harrison won one career Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP title in singles at the 2017 Memphis Open to go along with four in doubles, including the 2017 French Open. Before turning 16, Harrison was regarded as a prodigy after cracking the top 10 in the junior rankings and becoming one of the youngest players ever to win an ATP match.
