2013–14 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders women's basketball team represented Middle Tennessee State University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Blue Raiders, led by 8th year head coach Rick Insell, play their home games at the Murphy Center and are first year members of Conference USA. They were regular season champions of Conference USA and also won the Conference USA tournament to earn an automatic trip to the 2014 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, where they lost in the first round to Oregon State. Rick Insell
Rick Insell (born June 5, 1951) is the current head coach for the Middle Tennessee State University women's basketball team. Career He was the head coach of the Shelbyville Central High School girls' basketball team for 28 seasons. Coach Insell compiled a record of 775–148 () and won 10 state championships and won a Tennessee record 110 straight games. Insell was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.
