Ligue Nord-Américaine De Hockey
The Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH, ''"North American Hockey League"'') is a low-level professional ice hockey league based in the Canadian province of Quebec. Teams in the LNAH compete for the Vertdure Cup. History The league was founded as the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League (QSPHL; French: ''Ligue de hockey semi-professionnelle du Québec'' (''LHSPQ'')) in 1996, and became fully professional and assumed its current name in 2004. It reached its peak in terms of number of teams that season, with ten. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2019-20 playoffs were suspended and never concluded; Thetford Assurancia was the regular season champion. The league had hoped to start the 2021 season in January, but announced in November 2020 that it would not be going forward with one, although it floated the possibility of a spring tournament should the situation improve. Trois-Rivières (, – 'Three Rivers') is a city in the Mauricie administrative region of Quebec, Canada, at the confluence of the Saint-Maurice and Saint Lawrence rivers, on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River across from the city of Bécancour. Jonquière Marquis
The Jonquière Marquis are a hockey team in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH), which is based in the province of Quebec. They play at the Palais des Sports. The team has a long hockey history and have been known as Gladiateurs (1996–1997), Chiefs (1997–2008) and Marquis (2009 - present). History 1996-1997: Saint-Lin-Laurentides Gladiateurs The team started as the Saint-Lin-Laurentides Gladiateurs in 1996–1997. 1997-2004: The Chiefs The team moved to Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec to become the Sainte-Thérèse Chiefs in 1997–1998. It moved to Laval in 1998–1999, playing at the Colisée de Laval as the Laval Chiefs. During its time at Laval, the team won the Futura Cup in 2001-2002 and 2002–2003. Sorel-Tracy Éperviers
The Sorel-Tracy Éperviers (Sorel-Tracy Hawks) are a professional ice hockey team based in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. The team is part of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH). The Éperviers play at the Colisée Cardin. Initially, the team was based in Saint-Gabriel, Quebec and was called the Blizzard. Its first season was the 1996–97 season, where they captured the Futura Cup. The team then moved to Joliette, Quebec in 1998. It changed its name from Blizzard to Mission before the 2000–01 season. During its time in Joliette, they won a further two Futura Cups in 1998-99 and 2000–01. Before the 2002–03 season, they moved to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. The Thetford Assurancia is a hockey team based in Thetford Mines, Quebec. The team is part of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH). The team plays at the Centre Mario Gosselin. History Previously this LNAH franchise was known as the Thetford Mines Coyotes (1996–2000), and as the Thetford Mines Prolab (2000–07). Cornwall River Kings
The Cornwall River Kings were a professional ice hockey team based in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and members of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH). They played their home games at Ed Lumley Arena at the Cornwall Civic Complex. The team was also formerly known as the Windsor Wild of Windsor, Quebec before moving to Cornwall in 2012. History Year one: 2012–13 The team was purchased in 2012 by Bernard Villeneuve and brought to Cornwall to play in the Cornwall Civic Complex. Led by veterans Yves Sarault and Eric Meloche, Cornwall went 20-17-3 in its first LNAH season, finishing third overall in the regular season. Laval Braves
The Laval Predators (french: link=no, Prédateurs de Laval) were an ice hockey team based in Laval, Quebec which competed in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (LNAH) from 2013 to 2017. Their home arena was the historic Colisée de Laval, built in 1954 and nicknamed the "House of Pain", which seats 3500 spectators. The team originated in the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield as the Valleyfield Braves but relocated to Laval due to lackluster attendance and financial issues. The team finished the 2013–14 season as the Laval Braves before being renamed the Laval Predators for the start of the 2014–15 season. On May 31, 2017, it was announced that the Predators would cease operations.
