2013–14 Cal Poly Mustangs Men's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Cal Poly Mustangs men's basketball team represented California Polytechnic State University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mustangs were led by fifth year head coach Joe Callero and played their home games at Mott Gym. They were members of the Big West Conference. Cal Poly finished the regular season with a 10–19 record (6–10 Big West) and entered the Big West Conference tournament as the 7 seed. The Mustangs won the tournament to earn an automatic bid to their first NCAA tournament appearance in school history. After beating Texas Southern, they lost to Wichita State, 64–37, and finished 14–20. Joe Callero
Joseph Dominic Callero (born August 26, 1962) is an American college basketball coach, most recently the head men's basketball coach at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly). He replaced outgoing coach Kevin Bromley in 2009. Prior to accepting the job at Cal Poly, Callero spent eight seasons as the head coach at Seattle University. 2013–14 Arizona Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by fifth-year head coach Sean Miller and played home games at McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 33–5, 15–3 in Pac-12 play and won their first Pac-12 regular season championship since 2011 (the 13th time overall). They advanced to the championship game of the Pac-12 tournament where they lost to UCLA. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they defeated Weber State, Gonzaga, and San Diego State to advance to the Elite Eight where they lost to Wisconsin. Chris Eversley
Chris Eversley (born September 26, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for the Westports Malaysia Dragons of the ASEAN Basketball League. He was not selected in the 2014 NBA draft prior to his international career. Eversley generally plays the small forward position on the court. He played with the Cal Poly Mustangs men's basketball team throughout his college years and became the first athlete from Walter Payton College Prep to sign a National Letter of Intent with a men's basketball program in the NCAA Division I. Eversley previously played basketball at the collegiate level with the Rice Owls, but transferred after completing his freshman season.
