2013–14 Bobsleigh World Cup
The 2013–14 Bobsleigh World Cup was a multi-race tournament over the winter season for bobsleigh, organised by the FIBT, which also organised in parallel the 2013–14 Skeleton World Cup. The season started on 30 November 2013 in Calgary, Canada, and ended on 26 January 2014 in Königssee, Germany. Calendar Below is the schedule of the 2013/14 season. This edition was covering eight events on seven different tracks in five countries. The fact of having eight events in only seven tracks means that each discipline had one double race over the season. Steven Holcomb
Steven Paul Holcomb (April 14, 1980 – May 6, 2017) was an American bobsledder who competed from 1998 until his death in 2017. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, he won the four-man bobsled event for the United States, its first gold medal in that event since 1948. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, he finished second in both the four-man and two-man event. Early career Holcomb learned to ski when he was 2 years old. He was born in Park City, Utah, where his mother would take him skiing at every opportunity. He began ski racing when he was six at the main resort of Park City, and began ski racing for the Park City Ski Team for the following twelve years. During this time he was also an athlete in local sports, playing soccer, football, basketball, baseball, and running track. Beat Hefti
Beat Hefti (born 3 February 1978) is a Swiss bobsledder who has competed since the late 1990s. Competing in four Winter Olympics, he has won a total of four Olympic medals. A gold medal in Sochi ( two-man, 2014), two bronze medals in Torino ( two-man and four-man, 2006) and another bronze medal in Salt Lake City ( two-man, 2002). Hefti has also won four medals at the World Championships with one gold (Four-man: 2007), one silver (Four-man: 1999), and two bronzes (Two-man: 2001, 2005). Alexey Voevoda
Alexey Ivanovich Voyevoda (russian: Алексей Иванович Воевода; born 9 May 1980) is a Russian bobsledder, professional armwrestler and politician. Bobsleigh A professional bobsleigher since 2002, Voyevoda won silver in the four-man bobsleigh event with teammates Philippe Egorov, Alexei Seliverstov, and Alexandre Zoubkov at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. He also won a bronze in the two-man event at the 2008 FIBT World Championships in Altenberg, Germany. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Voyevoda won a bronze in the two-man event. Johnny Quinn
Johnny Quinn (born November 6, 1983) is an American bobsledder and former gridiron football player. He is a member of the U.S. National Bobsled Team and competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Quinn is a former wide receiver for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL) as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He was also a member of the NFL's Green Bay Packers in 2008. Quinn was a two-sport athlete at the University of North Texas, where he lettered in football and track and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. Francesco Friedrich (born 2 May 1990) is a German bobsledder who has been active since 2006. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, he and his brakeman Thorsten Margis tied with Canada's Justin Kripps and Alexander Kopacz for the gold medal in the two-man competition. Friedrich also won gold outright in the four-man event alongside Margis, Candy Bauer and Martin Grothkopp, making Friedrich the fifth German pilot to win two-man and four-man golds at the same Games, after Andreas Ostler in 1952, Meinhard Nehmer in 1976, Wolfgang Hoppe in 1984 and André Lange in 2006. Dallas Robinson (born March 30, 1982) is an American soldier and bobsledder. Robinson graduated from Oldham County High School in Buckner Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University and Campbellsville University. He is known as a sprinter but was also in the USA Rugby 7's and 15's pool of athletes in 2009 and 2010. In 2008 he was ranked 1st in the United States in the 55m Dash and top 10 in both the 60m and 200m races. Nick Cunningham
Nick Cunningham (born May 8, 1985) is an American bobsledder who has competed since 2008. Nick Cunningham is a Sergeant in the New York Army National Guard in the 1156 Engineering Company, Vertical, and his job is a Construction and Masonry Engineer. Cunningham graduated from Monterey Peninsula College in 2005 and Boise State University in 2008 with a degree in Communications. While at BSU he was an elected team captain for the track team. Cunningham also holds a master's degree in Athletic Coaching Education from Ohio University. When he is not bobsledding, Cunningham enjoys football, track, surfing, and rodeo. His favorite sliding memory is accepting his first gold medal and standing on top of the podium with the National Anthem being played.
