The 2013–14 Bahrain First Division League is the 57th edition of top level football in Bahrain. Busaiteen Club are the defending champions. The season started on 15 September. Teams Bahrain Club was relegated from the 2012–13 league campaign and replaced by Sitra who were last in the top flight in the 2008–09 league season. Malkiya survived the end of season playoff against East Riffa 2:1 on aggregate Stadia and locations *Although most clubs have a stadium, all games are played at the National Stadium, Khalifa Sports City Stadium and Al Ahli Stadium in. Bahraini Premier League
The Bahraini Premier League is the main football competition in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Currently known as the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League, the first season was held in 1957. The winners of the domestic championship qualify for the AFC Cup. The championship is currently contested by 12 clubs. Structure Current structure 12 clubs currently play a two round robin set of fixtures totaling 22 games in order to determine the league champions. Although games are played on a home and away basis, almost all games are played at the National Stadium. The eleventh and twelfth-placed clubs are relegated with the ninth and tenth enter the relegation play-offs. Khalifa Sports City Stadium
Khalifa Sports City Stadium, also known as Isa Town Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Isa Town, Bahrain. It is currently used mostly for association football. The stadium holds 15,000 people and was opened in 1968. It was last renovated in 2007. Facilities The stadium underwent a $24.4 million (9.2 million BHD) renovation in 2007 that incorporated natural grass on the main football pitch and constructing a new main stand that can carry 3,600 spectators. Another multipurpose sport hall was constructed with a capacity for 3,600 spectators. Sitra
Sitra ( ar, سترة or , ''As-Sitra''), also known as Sitrah ( ar, Jazīrat Sitrah, script=Latn) or Sitra Island ( ar, Jazīrat as-Sitra, script=Latn), is an island in Bahrain. It lies south of the capital, Manama, on Bahrain Island. Malkiya, Bahrain
Malkiya ( ar, المالكية) is a coastal village that lies on the western coast of Bahrain Island in Bahrain. The village is home to the Malkiya Club football team. In 2007, protests broke out in the area when a powerful member of the Bahraini royal family tried to seize some of the coastline of the village. Busaiteen ( ar, البسيتين) is a small town in northern Bahrain. It is located on Muharraq Island, just north of Muharraq City. Etymology The town's name, "''Busaiteen''," pertains to the large number of orchards found in it.
