2013 Taini Jamison Trophy Series
The 2013 Taini Jamison Trophy Series, also referred to as the New World Series, was the fifth Taini Jamison Trophy series. It featured New Zealand playing Malawi in a series of three netball test matches, played in October 2013. New Zealand won all three tests. The New Zealand team were coached by Waimarama Taumaunu and captained by Casey Kopua. Malawi were coached by Griffin Saenda and captained by Caroline Mtukule. 2011 Taini Jamison Trophy Series
The 2011 Taini Jamison Trophy Series, also referred to as the New World Series, was the fourth Taini Jamison Trophy series. It featured New Zealand playing England in two netball test matches, played in October 2011. New Zealand won the opening test 62–40 and the second test 53–32. As a result, New Zealand won the series 2–0. The New Zealand team was coached by Ruth Aitken and captained by Laura Langman. England were coached by Colette Thomson. The two tests were the fifth and sixth test matches that New Zealand and England had played against each other in 2011. This included a 2011 World Netball Championships semi-final. Northern Mystics
Northern Mystics are a New Zealand netball team based in Auckland. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship. Since 2017 they have represented Netball Northern in the ANZ Premiership. Netball Northern is the governing body that represents the Auckland and Northland Regions. In 2021, Mystics won their first premiership and in 2023 they won their second. History Formation Northern Mystics were formed in 2007. The new team was effectively a merger of the two former National Bank Cup teams, Northern Force and Auckland Diamonds. Mystics subsequently became founder members of the ANZ Championship. Bridget Kumwenda
Bridget Kumwenda (born 8 September 1991), also referred to as Bridget Chalera or Bridget Kumwenda Chalera, is a Malawi netball international player. She represented Malawi at the 2011, 2015 and 2019 Netball World Cups and at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Kumwenda was also a member of the Malawi team that finished third at the 2016 Fast5 Netball World Series. Early life and family Kumwenda was born in Mzimba district, Malawi. Joanna Kachilika
Joanna Kachilika (born 8 June 1984) has been a Malawian netball player, team captain and coach of the Malawi national team. She plays in the positions of goal defense or wing defense. She has featured in two World Cup tournaments for Malawi in 2011 and in 2019. She has also competed at the Commonwealth Games on three successive occasions in 2010, 2014 and in 2018 representing Malawi. In September 2019, she was included in the Malawian squad to lead the team for the 2019 African Netball Championships. She was one of only six people who had the Africa Level One Certificate in coaching and in January 2024 she was named as Malawi's National Team Coach. Jane Chimaliro (born 29 September 1985) is a clerk in the Malawian courts and a netball player who plays for Malawi in the positions of goal attack or wing attack. Life Chimaliro was born in 1975 and she was the last child of four. She was educated in Mzuzu at Chibavi Community Day Secondary School and this is where she began to play netball. She played for local teams before she settled down in 2007 at Civonets Netball Club. She began work with the Malawian judiciary in 2009 and in 2011 she was chosen to join the national netball team who are known as the Queens. Vicki Wilson, , (born 11 February 1965 in Brisbane, Queensland) is an Australian netball coach and retired international player. She is the current head coach of the Netball Fiji side. Vicki Wilson is also an executive with the Brisbane Broncos. Netball career Wilson was a part of the Australian national netball team for fifteen years, making her debut in 1985. Irene van Dyk (née Viljoen; born 21 June 1972) is a former netball international who represented both New Zealand and South Africa. Between 2000 and 2014 she made 145 senior appearances for New Zealand. Solonaima Maria Folau (née Tuta'ia; born 18 February 1987 in Tokoroa, New Zealand) is a retired New Zealand netball player. She played regularly for the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns. Early life Folau was born Solonaima Maria Tuta'ia in Tokoroa on 18 February 1987, the daughter of Fuisami Tuta'ia, a forestry worker, and his wife, Niukini, a homemaker, who in 1983 had moved to New Zealand from Samoa. She was named for her grandmothers, Solonaima and Malia, and she began using her middle name when she entered school as her teacher had difficulty pronouncing her first name.
