2013 San Pedro Local Elections
Local elections were held in San Pedro, Laguna, on May 13, 2013, within the 2013 Philippine general election, Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, and eight councilors. Mayoral and vice mayoral election Incumbent Mayor Calixto Catáquiz decided to run for reelection under Nacionalista Party but on 7 May 2013, was disqualified by the Commission on Elections (Philippines), Comelec (First Division). Lourdes S
Lourdes (, also , ; oc, Lorda ) is a market town situated in the Pyrenees. It is part of the Hautes-Pyrénées Departments of France, department in the Occitania (administrative region), Occitanie region in southwestern France. San Pedro, Laguna
San Pedro, officially the City of San Pedro ( fil, Lungsod ng San Pedro), is a 3rd class component city in the province of Laguna, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 326,001 people. It is named after its patron saint, Saint Peter. San Pedro has been dubbed as “dormitory town” of Metro Manila and migrants from other provinces commuting everyday through its highly efficient road and transport system. Despite being one of the smallest political units in the entire province, with a total land area of only 24.05 km2, San Pedro is the 5th most populous city (out of 6) after the cities of Calamba, Santa Rosa, Biñan and Cabuyao. 2013 Philippine General Election
A general election was held in the Philippines on May 13, 2013. It was a midterm election—the officials elected will be sworn in on June 30, 2013, midway through President Benigno Aquino III's term of office. Being elected are 12 senators (half of the Senate), and all 229 district members of the House of Representatives. These national elections were held on the same day as local and gubernatorial elections, as well as a general election in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. In total, there were 18,022 national and local positions up for election. Barangay officials, including barangay captains, were elected on October 28, 2013. Calixto Catáquiz
Calixto R. Cataquiz (December 29, 1948 – November 30, 2022) was the former mayor of San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines. He was also a businessman and banker, and once managed the Laguna Lake Development Authority from 2001 to 2003. Early life and education Calixto Cataquiz was born in Manila. His parents were Rodolfo C. Catáquiz of Unisan, Quezon, and Rosa T. Ramírez of San Pedro, Laguna. His parents were the pioneers of the '' balút'' industry in San Pedro. Calex, as his family members and friends call him, grew up in his mother's hometown. He was an only child from an affluent family.
