The 2013 Los Angeles Sparks season was the franchise's 17th season in the Women's National Basketball Association, and the second season under head coach Carol Ross. The season tipped off on May 26, 2013, in Staples Center versus the 2013 Seattle Storm season, Seattle Storm and ended on September 15 against the 2013 Phoenix Mercury season, Phoenix Mercury. Carol Ross
Carol Ross (born June 11, 1959) is an American college and professional basketball coach. Ross has served as the head women's basketball coach for the University of Florida and the University of Mississippi, and also as the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). College playing career Ross accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Mississippi, where she was a four-year starter at guard (basketball), guard for coach Van Chancellor's Ole Miss Rebels#Women's basketball, Ole Miss Lady Rebels basketball team from 1978 to 1981. She developed a reputation as a "pesky" and "tenacious" player who still holds the Ole Miss season record for steals (135), and ranks ninth on the Southeastern Conference (SEC) career steals list. Jenna O'Hea
Jenna O'Hea (born 6 June 1987) is a former Australian professional basketball player and former captain of Australia's national team, the Opals. O'Hea was the captain of the Australian Women's basketball team (Opals) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Opals were eliminated after losing to the USA in the quarterfinals. Basketball career Junior Basketball O'Hea played for the Nunawading Spectres at junior level, and represented her home state of Victoria at the U16, U18 and U20 levels. Kristi Renee Toliver (born January 27, 1987) is an American-Slovak professional basketball coach and former player who is the associate head coach for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Marissa Coleman (born January 4, 1987) is an American former professional basketball player. Personal life Coleman was born in Portland, Oregon to Tony and Joni Coleman. She has an older sister, LaTonya, and a younger brother, Anthony. Alana Monique Beard (born May 14, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player. After playing college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils, she was drafted second overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2004 WNBA draft. She signed on with the Los Angeles Sparks as a free agent in 2012. Beard was the 2017 and 2018 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Award, WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. Farhiya Abdi
Farhiya Abdi (born May 31, 1992) is a Somali-Swedish professional basketball player. She has also played overseas since 2016. Career Abdi was born in 1992 in Sweden. Her parents are Somali migrants. Abdi initially played for BK Brno in the Czech Republic basketball league. Ebony Vernice Hoffman (born August 27, 1982) is a former professional basketball player and a current assistant coach for the Seattle Storm of the WNBA. She played and won the EuroLeague Women's championship with Fenerbahce Istanbul in Turkey. Nnemkadi Chinwe Victoria "Nneka" Ogwumike (; born July 2, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks first overall in the 2012 WNBA draft and signed an endorsement deal with Nike, Inc., Nike soon after.
