The 2013 JSM Challenger of Champaign–Urbana was a professional tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the twelfth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2013 ATP Challenger Tour. Hardcourt
A hardcourt (or hard court) is a type of surface or floor on which a sport is played, most usually in reference to tennis courts. It is typically made of rigid materials such as asphalt or concrete, and covered with acrylic resins to seal the surface and mark the playing lines, while providing some cushioning. Historically, hardwood surfaces were also in use in indoor settings, similar to an indoor basketball court, but these surfaces are rare now. Tennis Tennis hard courts are made of synthetic/acrylic layers on top of a concrete or asphalt foundation and can vary in color. These courts tend to play medium-fast to fast because there is little energy absorption by the court, as with grass courts but unlike clay courts. Peter Polansky ( ; born June 15, 1988) is a Canadian professional tennis player of Czech origin. He was Canada's top singles player from June 21, 2010, until January 17, 2011, in the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP rankings. Austin Krajicek ( ; born June 16, 1990) is an American professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 1 in doubles by the ATP in June 2023. He attained a career-high singles ranking of world No. 94 in October 2015. A former player for Texas A&M University, Krajicek won the national doubles title at the 2011 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships, the first in the program's history. He turned professional in 2012 and made his top 100 singles debut in 2015, a year in which he made the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 in Tokyo and broke through on the major level by reaching the second round of the US Open. Evan King (born March 25, 1992) is an American professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He has a career-high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 18, achieved on May 5, 2025 and a singles ranking of No. 185, achieved on April 23, 2018. Joshua Milton (born 14 October 1989) is a British tennis coach and former professional player. Based in San Diego, Milton has been the traveling coach of Dan Evans. As a player he was a Welsh number one and represented Wales at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Dimitar Kutrovsky (; born 27 August 1987) is a retired tennis player from Bulgaria. On 18 May 2015, he reached his highest ATP singles ranking of 293 whilst his best doubles ranking was 234 on 10 August 2015. As a junior, he played for CSKA. Rik de Voest (born 5 June 1980) is a former professional South African tennis player. He achieved his career-high singles ranking of world No. 110 in August 2006.
