2013 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup Series
The 2013 FIG World Cup circuit in Rhythmic Gymnastics includes one category A event (Sofia) and seven category B events. Apart from Tartu, Bucharest and Corbeil-Essonnes (individuals only), all events include both individual and group competitions, with all-around competitions serving as qualifications for the finals by apparatus. With stopovers in Europe only, the competitions took place on 8 – 10 February in Tartu (EST), 3 – 6 April in Lisbon (POR), 19 – 21 April April in Bucharest (ROU), 26 – 28 April in Pesaro (ITA), 4 – 5 May in Sofia (BUL), 10 – 12 May in Corbeil-Essonnes (FRA), 17 – 19 May in Minsk (BLR) and 17 – 18 August in St Petersburg (RUS). The world ranking points collected by the competitors at their best four World Cup events added up to a total, and the top scorers in each event were crowned winners of the overall series at the final event in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup is a competition for rhythmic gymnastics sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). It is one of the few tournaments in rhythmic gymnastics officially organized by FIG, as well as the World Championships (including the Junior World Championships), the gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games and the Youth Olympics, and the rhythmic gymnastics events at the World Games. The World Cup series should not be confused with the Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix series, which is neither officially organized nor promoted by FIG. History In 1983, FIG decided to hold a World Cup event in rhythmic gymnastics. The event was staged as an alternative to the World Championships, a tournament held, at the time, every four years. Deng Senyue ( zh, s=邓森悦; born 5 February 1992 in Liuzhou, Guangxi Province China) is a retired Chinese individual rhythmic gymnast. She finished 4th in All-around at the 2013 World Championships. She is the first Chinese rhythmic gymnast to qualify for apparatus final in the World Championships. She is the first Chinese rhythmic gymnast to win a medal in the World Cup series. Neta Rivkin
Neta Rivkin (; born June 19, 1991) is a retired Israeli individual rhythmic gymnast. She is one of Israel's most successful rhythmic gymnasts. A three-time Olympian, in 2011 she won the silver medal in clubs at the 2011 European Championships. That same year she also won a bronze medal in the individual hoop final at the 2011 World Championships. She won the all-around silver medal at the 2014 Grand Prix Final. Alexandra Piscupescu (born 10 June 1994) is a retired Romanian rhythmic gymnast. She is a 6-time Romanian national champion. She now works as a judge and is a member of the European Gymnastics rhythmic gymnastics technical committee. Career As a junior, she competed at the 2009 Irina Deleanu Cup, where she won the junior all-around gold medal. Piscupescu debuted as a senior in 2010.
