2013 Dasmariñas Local Elections
Local elections were held in the city of Dasmariñas on May 13, 2013 together with the national and provincial level elections. Since Dasmariñas is a component city in the province of Cavite, it may elect a provincial official despite its own representation in the congress. Background Since 1998, Barzagas have dominated in the elections. Their allies have also won several positions in the city/municipal council. In 2010, the Barzagas were members of Lakas-Kampi-CMD supporting Gilbert Teodoro, who lost to Benigno Aquino III of the Liberal Party. When the 15th Congress of the Philippines started, Pidi became a member of the majority group of Feliciano Belmonte. Jennifer Barzaga
Jennifer Narvaez Austria-Barzaga (born September 22, 1975) is a Filipino politician who has been the Mayor of the City of Dasmariñas since 2019 and had previously held this position from 2007 until 2016. Early life and education Barzaga born on September 22, 1975, to Nicanor Austria and Anician Narvaez. She educated elementary at the Dasmariñas Bagong Bayan Elementary School-C. She was placed Best in Math at the time. She later studied secondary at the Immaculate Conceptsion Academy, and tertiary and graduated at the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas. Juanito Victor Remulla
Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Catibayan Remulla Jr. (born October 23, 1967) is a Filipino politician serving as the governor of Cavite since 2019, previously holding the position from 2010 to 2016. He also previously served as the vice governor and as a member of the Cavite Provincial Board. He is a son of former governor Juanito Remulla Sr. and sibling of fellow politicians Gilbert and Jesus Crispin Remulla. Remulla entered politics in 1995, when he won as board member of the second district of Cavite. The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA; ) is a political party in the Philippines. Lakas–CMD (1991)
Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (), abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and popularly known as Lakas, was a political party in the Philippines. Its ideology and that of its successor is heavily influenced by Christian and Islamic democracy. The party's influence on Philippine society is very strong, especially after the People Power Revolution, which has led the country to elect two presidents from the party, namely Fidel V. General Trias
General Trias, officially the City of General Trias ( fil, Lungsod ng General Trias), is a 1st class component city in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 450,583 people. Etymology During the earlier part of the Spanish colonial period, General Trias was often referred to as ''Las Estancias'' (the ranches), which was once a part of Cavite el Viejo, the present-day Kawit. It was also called ''Malabón Grande''. The name ''Malabón'' was speculated to have been derived from either the local term "''maraming labong''," due to the abundance of bamboo shoots in the area, which is a main ingredient in Filipino cuisine; or from "''mayabong''," referring to the trees and other plants once abundant in the place.
