2012–13 Hull City A.F.C. Season
The 2012–13 season is Hull City's third consecutive season back in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League in the 2009–10 season. They also competed in the League Cup and the FA Cup. After a dramatic last day of the season the club took second place and gained automatic promotion back to the Premier League for the 2013–14 season. Events The closed season saw the arrival of new manager Steve Bruce, on 8 June 2012, on a three-year deal, replacing Nick Barmby, 6 weeks after he was officially sacked. On 29 June 2012 the club announced the new backroom staff for the up-and-coming season; Steve Agnew became the assistant manager, Keith Bertschin as first team coach and Stephen Clemence as reserve team manager. Keith Bertschin
Keith Edwin Bertschin (born 25 August 1956) is a former professional footballer and coach. Bertschin, a striker, began his professional career with Ipswich Town (1973–1977), before playing for Birmingham City (1977–1981), Norwich City (1981–1982; 1982–1984), Stoke City (1984–1987), Sunderland (1987–1988), Walsall (1988–1990), Chester City (1990–1991) and Aldershot (1991–1992). He also played non-League football and had a short spell playing in the United States with the Jacksonville Tea Men in 1982. Playing career Bertschin was born in Enfield and began his career with Barnet before joining Ipswich Town in 1973. He made a perfect start to professional football scoring on his debut scoring the winning goal in a 2–1 victory over Arsenal in April 1976. He scored again two days later against West Ham United. Mark Cullen (English Footballer)
Mark Cullen (born 21 April 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for club AFC Fylde. A player with excellent finishing skills, he has scored in each of the top five divisions of the English football league system. A former Newcastle United youth-team player, he went on to graduate from the Hull City Academy and make his Premier League debut for the club in the 2009–10 season. He spent the next three seasons on loan at Bradford City, Bury and Stockport County, before taking a free transfer move to Luton Town in May 2013. Luton won promotion back into the English Football League as champions of the Conference Premier at the end of the 2013–14 season and he was sold on to Blackpool for a fee of £180,000 in June 2015 after a successful season in League Two. Benjamin Paul Amos (born 10 April 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Wigan Athletic. Born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, Amos began his career with Crewe Alexandra's youth academy, but joined Manchester United at the age of 11. Alex Stephen Bruce (born 28 September 1984) is a former professional footballer who played as a defender or defensive midfielder. The son of the former Manchester United defender Steve Bruce, he has played for Oldham Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday, Tranmere Rovers, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Wigan Athletic, Bury, Kilmarnock and Macclesfield. Omatsone Folarin "Sone" Aluko (born 19 February 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward or winger for Ipswich Town and the Nigeria national team. Aluko began his career at Birmingham City, graduating from the club's academy to make his senior debut in 2007. He joined Aberdeen on loan in the 2007–08 season and was loaned to Blackpool at the beginning of the 2008–09 season. Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye (born 26 February 1978), known as Abdoulaye Faye, is a Senegalese former footballer who played as a defender. Faye began his career playing for ASEC Ndiambour and Jeanne d'Arc in his native Senegal before moving to French side Lens in 2002. After spending time out on loan at Istres he attracted the attentions of Sam Allardyce who signed him for Bolton Wanderers in July 2005. Nick Proschwitz (born 28 November 1986) is a German professional footballer who plays as a forward for Hoffenheim II. He began his career in Germany and Switzerland, before moving to England in 2012 where he spent the next three years.
