2012–13 Hong Kong Season Play-off
Hong Kong season play-off for the 2012–13 football season was held in May 2013. All matches took place at Mong Kok Stadium in Mong Kok, Kowloon. The play-off semi-finals are played in one match each, contested by the teams who finished in 2nd and 3rd place in the First Division League table, the winners of the Senior Challenge Shield and the champions of the FA Cup. The winners of the semi-finals go through to the finals, with the winner of the final gaining participation for the 2014 AFC Cup group stage. Qualified teams First Division League The teams with final position between 2nd and 5th inclusively guaranteed places in the play-off. 2014 AFC Cup
The 2014 AFC Cup was the 11th edition of the AFC Cup, a football competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for clubs from "developing countries" in Asia. Al-Kuwait were the two-time defending champions, but were eliminated by Persipura Jayapura in the quarter-finals. In the final, Al-Qadsia of Kuwait defeated Erbil of Iraq 4–2 on penalties after a 0–0 draw in regulation time, to win their first AFC Cup title after losing in the previous year's final. Xie Silida ( ; born 19 June 1990) is a Chinese-born Hong Kong former professional footballer who played as a center back or a defensive midfielder. Club career Beijing Guoan Xie joined Beijing Guoan youth academy after he left Yunnan Hongta, his hometown-based club. However, in 2010, he was informed that the club would not sign a professional contract with him. Ling Cong () is a former Chinese professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Happy Valley In the 2008–09 season, Ling Cong scored 15 goals for Happy Valley and was the club's top scorer. Yip Tsz Chun (; born 15 May 1985 in Hong Kong) is a Hong Kong former professional footballer who currently plays for Hong Kong First Division club Yuen Long. He is also the head coach of the club.
