2012–13 Club América Season
The 2012–13 Club América, América season was the 66th professional season of Liga MX, Mexico's top-flight football league. The season is split into two tournaments—the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura—each with identical formats and contested by the same eighteen teams. América began their season on July 21, 2012 against C.F. Monterrey, Monterrey, América played most of their homes games on Saturdays at 5:00pm local time. On May 26, 2013, América won the 2012–13 Liga MX season#Torneo Clausura, eleventh league title in their history by defeating Cruz Azul 4–2 on penalty kicks after a comeback from a 0–1 first leg loss to tie 2–2 on aggregate. With this, América become the most successful club, along with Guadalajara, in Mexico. Club de Fútbol América S.A. de C.V., commonly known as Club América, is a professional association football, football club based in Mexico City. Nicknamed ''Las Águilas'' (The Eagles), it competes in Liga MX, the top tier of Mexican football league system, Mexican football. Rubens Sambueza
Rubens Oscar Sambueza (born 1 January 1984) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. In October 2013, he became a naturalized Mexican citizen. His younger brother Fabián is also a professional footballer. Club career River Plate Sambueza came up through the youth-ranks at River Plate, making his debut for the first-team on 30 November 2003 in a 2–0 loss against Lanús. Diego Antonio Reyes
Diego Antonio Reyes Rosales (; born 19 September 1992) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Liga MX club Tigres UANL. He is an Olympic gold medalist. Reyes made his professional debut with Club América in April 2010. Three years later, he was transferred to Porto. Reyes went on to play for Real Sociedad, Espanyol, Fenerbahçe, and Leganés, but struggled to establish himself. He returned to Mexico in August 2019 and signed with Tigres UANL. José Maria Cárdenas López (born 2 April 1985) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Jesús Antonio Molina Granados (born 29 March 1988) is a Mexican former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Midfielder#Defensive midfielder, defensive midfielder. Efraín Juárez Valdez (born 22 February 1988) is a Mexican football manager and former player. He is the current head coach of UNAM. Club career Early Career Juárez joined the Pumas youth system at the age of thirteen.
