2012–13 Belarusian Cup
2012–13 Belarusian Cup was the twenty second season of the Belarusian annual cup competition. Contrary to the league season, it is conducted in a fall-spring rhythm. The first games were played on 13 June 2012. Winners of the Cup qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League. Participating clubs The following teams will take part in the competition: First round 32 teams started the competition in this round: 10 teams from the First League, 16 teams from Second League and 6 amateur clubs. 5 First League clubs that were at the top of league table at the moment of the draw ( SKVICH Minsk, Bereza-2010, Gorodeya, Dnepr Mogilev and Granit Mikashevichi) and all 11 Premier League teams received a bye to the next round. FC Minsk
FC Minsk ( be, ФК Мінск) is a professional football club based in Minsk, Belarus. They play in the Belarusian Premier League, the highest tier of Belarusian football. Their colours are red and navy blue. History The club was established in 2006 and was based on the Belarusian First League club '' Smena Minsk''. FC Minsk took over Smena's license and was able to start immediately operating in the Belarusian First League without having to first play in the Second League, the third tier in Belarus. In the club's inaugural season in the First League, they were able to finish in first place guaranteeing them promotion to the Belarusian Premier League. FC Polotsk was a Belarusian professional football club based in Polotsk, Vitebsk Oblast, Belarus. History The club was founded in 2004 and joined Belarusian Second League the same year. In 2006 they made their debut in Belarusian First League, where they stayed until 2013. In September 2013, the club, struggling with financial troubles, announced its withdrawal from the league. FC Rechitsa-2014 () was a Belarusian football club based in Rechytsa. History The club was founded in 1952 as Krasnaya Zvezda Rechitsa (''Red Star'') and spent Soviet years playing in the Belarusian SSR league or in lower regional leagues. In 1960, they became Dneprovets Rechitsa, then Dnepr Rechitsa in 1962. In 1977, they were renamed to Neftyanik Rechitsa (''Oiler'') and in 1980 to Sputnik Rechitsa (''Satellite''). In 1991, Sputnik won the Belarusian SSR First League (2nd level). In 1992, the club was renamed to Vedrich Rechitsa and included to newly created Belarusian Premier League. History Origins and predecessor clubs There was competitive football in Slutsk as early as 1913, with a Slutsk team entering the third season of the republican competition in 1926, but it did not enter a BSSR competition again until 1936. FC SKVICH Minsk was a Belarusian football club based in Minsk, last playing in the Belarusian Second League. History The team was founded in late 2000 by travel company SKVICH, which had had investments in sport and football projects (such as their own football school) for several years. Before the start of their first season, after gaining support from Belarusian Railways, the team was renamed Lokomotiv Minsk. The team won the Second League in 2001 and finished 3rd in the First League the following year and was promoted to the Belarusian Premier League. Lokomotiv finished in the relegation zone of the table in three of their four seasons in the Premier League; twice they were promoted after only one season, until they got stuck in the First League following relegation in 2008. History Dnepr Mogilev was founded in 1960 under the name Khimik Mogilev and began playing in the Class B (second tier league) of Soviet championship, which at the time consisted of over 140 teams split into several regional zones. In 1963, the team relegated to the third tier due to league structure reorganization and changed their name to Spartak Mogilev.
