2012–13 Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2012–13 Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball season marked the 37th season of Atlantic 10 Conference basketball. The season marked the first for new members Butler Bulldogs men's basketball, Butler and VCU Rams men's basketball, VCU, and the last for departing members Temple Owls men's basketball, Temple and Charlotte 49ers men's basketball, Charlotte. The 2013 Atlantic 10 men's basketball tournament was held for the first time at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York. Preseason Prior to the season, the Atlantic 10 welcomed new members, Butler Bulldogs men's basketball, Butler and VCU Rams men's basketball, VCU. The two schools joined the conference immediately, rather than waiting a season as Butler initially intended, because they "weren't going to be allowed to play in the respective conference tournaments." Ronald Nored
Ronald Nored (born March 1, 1990) is an American basketball coach, currently an assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Previously he served as the head coach of the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League, and an assistant coach for the Maine Red Claws of the Boston Celtics organization. He is a former point guard for Butler University's basketball team. Playing career High school Nored starred as an all-state point guard for Homewood High School in Homewood, Alabama, averaging 15.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game as a senior, when he led the team to a 31–5 record and a state finals appearance in 2008. Khalif Wyatt
Khalif Wyatt (born June 10, 1991) is an American former professional basketball player. He was the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year as a college basketball senior in the 2012–13 season, after leading the Owls to the Round of 32 in the 2013 NCAA tournament. Wyatt led Temple in scoring in his final college season, with a 20.5 points per game average. In July 2023 he joined Temple men's basketball's staff as the program's first Director of Player Development after a nine-year professional playing career. Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball
The Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represents Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. The school's team currently competes in the Big East Conference. Xavier has appeared in the NCAA tournament 30 times, 16 times in the 18 tournaments between 2001 and 2018. On March 11, 2018, Xavier earned its first ever No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Rick Majerus
Richard Raymond Majerus (February 17, 1948 – December 1, 2012) was an American basketball coach and TV analyst. He coached at Marquette University (1983–1986), Ball State University (1987–1989), the University of Utah (1989–2004), and Saint Louis University (2007–2012). Majerus's most successful season came at Utah in the 1997–98 season, when the Utes finished as runners-up in the 1998 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Majerus was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. Brian Conklin (born September 5, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Ibaraki Robots of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for Saint Louis University and has since played in New Zealand, Australia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, France, Turkey, Portugal, and Mexico. The Saint Louis Billikens men's basketball team is the college basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball program representing Saint Louis University. They compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Saint Joseph's Hawks men's basketball team represents Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Andrew Fabian Nicholson (born December 8, 1989) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus of the Korean Basketball League (KBL). He played college basketball for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies before being selected by the Orlando Magic with the 19th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.
