2012 Copa Del Rey De Balonmano
The 2012 Copa del Rey de Balonmano was the 37th edition of the Copa del Rey de Balonmano. It took place in the Palacio de los Deportes Infanta Cristina, in Torrevieja, Valencian Community, between 7 & 11 March 2012. It was hosted by Liga ASOBAL, Torrevieja city council, Costa Blanca Tourism & Hotel La Laguna. Torrevieja was the host team. Torrevieja hosted Copa del Rey for second time from 2002. Qualified teams The qualified teams were the top seven teams on standings at midseason, besides the host team. The Liga ASOBAL 2011–12 was the 22nd season since its establishment. Barcelona Intersport are the defending champions. The campaign began on Friday, 9 September 2011. Kiril Lazarov ( mk, Кирил Лазаров, born 10 May 1980) is a retired Macedonian handball player and current coach of the North Macedonia national handball team and RK Alkaloid. Lazarov holds the record for most goals scored in a single World Men's Handball Championship (92). Siarhei Rutenka, also Sergej Rutenka ( be, Сяргей Рутэнка; born 29 September 1981) is a Belarusian former handball player. Besides Belarusian citizenship, he also acquired Slovenian citizenship in 2003. In January 2008, he received the Spanish nationality.
