2012 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2012 Calgary Stampeders season was the 55th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 74th overall. The Stampeders finished in second place in the West Division with a 12–6 record. The Stampeders won the West Semi-Final over the Saskatchewan Roughriders by a score of 36–30, earning their first playoff victory over Saskatchewan since 1994. The Stampeders then traveled to Vancouver and upset the 1st place BC Lions 34–29, advancing to the Grey Cup game. Calgary were the Grey Cup favourites by two points, but they lost 35–22 to the hometown Toronto Argonauts. Offseason CFL Draft The 2012 CFL Draft took place on May 3, 2012. Canadian Football League West Division
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division. With a few exceptions, a senior men's football championship has been contested in Western Canada since 1911, and with a few additional exceptions the Western champion has played the Eastern champion for the Grey Cup. Although its teams have been members of the CFL since 1958, the then-Western Football Conference remained a distinct legal entity until 1981. The five teams in the West Division are the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Keenan MacDougall (born March 18, 1990) is a former Canadian football defensive back. He was selected 15th overall by the Stampeders in the 2012 CFL Draft. After the 2011 CIS season, he was ranked as the 14th best player in the Canadian Football League’s Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings for players eligible in the 2012 CFL Draft, and eighth by players in Canadian Interuniversity Sport. Eastern Oregon University
Eastern Oregon University (EOU) (officially designated as Oregon’s Rural University) is a public university in La Grande, Oregon. It was formerly part of the since dissolved Oregon University System. EOU was founded in 1929 as a teacher’s college. The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees. The school's athletic teams, the Mountaineers, are members of the Cascade and Frontier conferences of the NAIA. Jordan Spence (Canadian Football)
Jordan James Spence (born 24 May 1990) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Predominantly a right-back, Spence also operated as a centre-back. The Mount Allison Mounties are the varsity athletic teams that represent Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. Mike Filer (born May 6, 1990) is a former Canadian football offensive lineman. He played CIS football with the Mount Allison Mounties from 2008 to 2011. University career Filer committed to Mount Allison University in the spring of 2008, and by the third week of the regular season, was starting at right guard as a true freshman for the Mounties. He went on to become known as one of the greatest offensive linemen in school history, winning the team's Lineman of the Year award twice, being named a conference all-star twice, and in 2010 receiving second-team All-Canadian honours. Adam Berger
Adam Berger (born June 28, 1990) is a former Canadian football defensive back. He is a two time Grey Cup champion, having won in 2014 and 2018 with the Calgary Stampeders. Early career Berger played high school football at Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School as a quarterback. In 2007, he was named the province's Player of the Year. He played college football for the Simon Fraser Clan from 2008 to 2012. Berger was a medical redshirt in 2008 and played only one game in 2009. The SFU Red Leafs or Simon Fraser Red Leafs teams (formerly the Simon Fraser Clan) represent Simon Fraser University (SFU), which is located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. The Jacksonville Dolphins are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent Jacksonville University, located in Jacksonville, Florida.
