The 2012 African Championships in Athletics was held at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto Novo, Benin from 27 June to 1 July 2012. It was the first time that Benin had hosted the event. Porto Novo

In 2010 he competed at the 2010 African Championships in Nairobi and won the silver medal in the 110 metre hurdles with a time of 13.83 seconds. Jonathan Kiplimo Maiyo (born 5 May 1988) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in half marathon and marathon events.
