2011–12 Dunfermline Athletic F.C. Season
The 2011–12 season was Dunfermline Athletic's 1st season back in the Scottish Premier League after winning promotion from the Scottish First Division during the 2010–11 season. They also competed in the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup. SPL The new SPL season started on 23 July, but Dunfermline didn't play until two days later as they were scheduled for TV coverage on Sky Sports. July/August St Mirren (Home) In the first game of the season Dunfermline hosted St Mirren in a match which the visitors dominated. Just before half-time a penalty was awarded to St Mirren, which was taken by Stephen Thompson, but saved by goalkeeper Paul Gallacher. The rest of the match was played out with St Mirren on top but unable to beat Gallacher. Final score: 0–0. Inverness (Home) In a six-goal thriller the points were evenly split, leaving both sides feeling that they could have won the match. Dunfermline Athletic F
Dunfermline (; , ) is a city, parish, and former royal burgh in Fife, Scotland, from the northern shore of the Firth of Forth. Dunfermline was the de facto capital of the Kingdom of Scotland between the 11th and 15th centuries. The earliest known settlements around Dunfermline probably date to the Neolithic period, growing by the Bronze Age. The city was first recorded in the 11th century, with the marriage of Malcolm III of Scotland, and Saint Margaret at Dunfermline. The Scottish Football League First Division was the second tier in the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. It was replaced by the Scottish Championship. Francisco Sandaza
Francisco "Fran" José Sandaza Asensio (; born 30 November 1984) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He achieved Segunda División totals of 127 games and 34 goals for Lugo, Girona and Alcorcón, but spent most of his career abroad. He represented Dundee United, St Johnstone and Rangers in Scotland, in addition to brief spells in England, Qatar, Japan, China and India. John Potter (footballer)
John Potter (born 15 December 1979) is a Scottish football player and coach, who is the technical director of Raith Rovers. Potter played as a defender for Celtic, Dunfermline Athletic (two spells), Clyde, St Mirren and Queen of the South. During his second spell with Dunfermline, Potter took on coaching responsibilities and later had a short spell as manager. He left Dunfermline in 2016 and then worked as a coach for Jack Ross at St Mirren, Sunderland and Hibernian. Potter returned to management with Kelty Hearts, taking charge of them during the 2022–23 season. 2011–12 Scottish Premier League
The 2011–12 Scottish Premier League was the fourteenth season of the Scottish Premier League, the highest division of Scottish football, since its inception in 1998. The season started on 23 July 2011 and ended on 13 May 2012. A total of twelve teams contested the league: eleven sides that competed in the 2010–11 SPL and one club promoted from the First Division. The new entry was First Division champions Dunfermline Athletic, who replaced relegated Hamilton Academical. Since Scotland climbed from sixteenth to fifteenth place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2010–11 season, the league re-gained an additional third qualifying round berth for the UEFA Champions League. Jason Thomson (born 26 July 1987) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Arbroath. McDiarmid Park is a stadium in Perth, Scotland, Perth, Scotland, used mainly for association football. Martin Hardie (born 22 April 1976) is a Scottish football coach and former footballer. Hardie started his career with Queen's Park in 1996, subsequently playing for eight different clubs, including two spells at Partick Thistle and also playing for both guises of Airdrieonians. Career Upon joining St Johnstone, Hardie was suspended for the opening game of the 2006–07 season. He marked his debut for the club just three days later with a goal in a 3–1 win over East Fife in the League Cup. Jonathan Hayes (born 9 July 1987) is an Irish retired professional Association football, footballer. He is a coach for Celtic F.C. B Team and Academy, Celtic B. Gregory James Tansey (born 21 November 1988) is an English former professional Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Tansey started his career at Stockport County F.C., Stockport County, progressing through the youth system before making his first-team debut in 2006. Paul James Gallacher (born 16 August 1979) is a Scottish former professional footballer who currently is the goalkeeping coach for Heart of Midlothian. Gallacher made eight appearances for the Scotland national team between 2002 and 2004.
