2011 Turkish Super Cup
TFF Süper Kupa 2011 should have been the 39th edition of the Turkish Super Cup since its establishment as ''Presidential Cup'' in 1966. The match was going to be contested between the 2010–11 Süper Lig champions Fenerbahçe and the 2010–11 Turkish Cup winners Beşiktaş. The match was to be played on 31 July 2011 but the TFF postponed but was cancelled after the match fixing scandal investigations. The venue for the final would have been the Erzurum Universiade Arena, which would have hosted its first Turkish Super Cup final. On 27 December 2021, Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court acquitted Fenerbahçe executives Aziz Yıldırım, Şekip Mosturoğlu, İlhan Ekşioğlu and others, which made the issue of replaying the match moot on Fenerbahçe side and they posted an announcement about their application to the Turkish Football Federation on 30 December. The Turkish Super Cup (Turkish: ''TFF Süper Kupa''), as it is currently known, is the annual super cup football match contested between the previous season's Süper Lig champions and the Turkish Cup winners in Turkey. It was originally known as the ''Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası'' (Presidential Cup) from 1966 to 1998. No competition was held between 1999 and 2005, although there was a substitute competition played under the name of Atatürk Cup in 2000. The rebranded ''TFF Süper Kupa'' is a curtain raiser for the upcoming footballing season, usually taking place in August. Trabzonspor Kulübü is a Turkish sports club located in the city of Trabzon. Formed in 1967 through a merger of several local clubs, the men's football team has won seven Süper Lig championships. TFF Süper Kupa 2009 (''English'': TFF Super Cup) was the 37th edition the Turkish Super Cup since its establishment. This was the first time, Turkish Super Cup was held in Istanbul.
