2011 Seattle Seahawks Season
The 2011 season was the Seattle Seahawks' 36th in the National Football League (NFL), their 10th playing home games at CenturyLink Field (formerly known as ''Qwest Field'') and their second under head coach Pete Carroll. It was the first season in over a decade in which the Seahawks came into the season with a new starting quarterback, as incumbent Matt Hasselbeck left for the Tennessee Titans in free agency. The Seahawks equaled their 7–9 record in 2010, but failed to defend their NFC West division title and missed the playoffs. This year was notable for the emergence of the Legion of Boom defensive group. Until 2021, this was the last season the Seahawks finished with a losing record. The National Football Conference – Western Division or NFC West is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It currently has four members: the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks. Legion Of Boom (Seattle Seahawks)
The Legion of Boom (LOB) was the Seattle Seahawks secondary in the 2010s. The original group that was nicknamed the Legion of Boom consisted of the starters in the Seahawks defensive backfield: Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Brandon Browner, Walter Thurmond and Byron Maxwell. Over time, the nickname grew to encompass the Seahawks defense as a whole, including prominent players such as Bobby Wagner, K. J. Anthony Deion Branch Jr. (born July 18, 1979) is an American former professional American football, football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). John David Moffitt (born October 28, 1986) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard in the National Football League (NFL).
